| | | dicsolovag | 01-26-2016 12:36 AM | Can eBay collect seller fees after they shut you down? Folks,
Can eBAy collect seller fees after they suspend your account? If I delete all my personal details, credit cards and cancel all Paypal billing agreements, can they collect. I am closing the linked Paypal account and canceling all linked credit cards.
I paid them a lot, and I am pissed at them now for suspending me. How can they collect? |

| dicsolovag | 01-26-2016 03:18 AM | Re: Can eBay collect seller fees after they shut you down? Got it. I have had a Paypal debit card on file that had been reported stolen. I am closing all Paypal accounts that had been associated with Linked/suspended Ebay accounts. Ebay does not have my SSN, so how can they go after you? Thanks! |

Unless there's another "discolovag" at your address, with your birthday, it won't be hard to send your info to a collections agency. Your NAME is real, your ADDRESS is real, so all they need to do is send the info to the appropriate party. Also, IP addresses can be used to gather this info from your ISP, but this would be unnecessary, since you willingly gave it to them. |

Sorry but that is unwise.
Care to explain the reasons?

:pout: | Seems like OP just doesn't want to pay his eBay fees. We have all been there, but with real accounts, it's unwise. |

| dicsolovag | 01-26-2016 05:45 PM | Re: Can eBay collect seller fees after they shut you down? Thank you for all that responded. Last night I was furious after they suspended me, hence the posting.
I will pay them as that's the right thing to do. Thanks again! |

| JamesYaBaoy | 01-28-2016 12:30 AM | Re: Can eBay collect seller fees after they shut you down? I did a charge-back on prior fees after they shut down one account. Credit company agreed with me and I got back the fees.
eBay sends these accounts to a collection agency/debt collector, meaning that are not the original creditor as far as the FDCPA is concerned. Due to the FDCPA, debt collectors have to walk around glass not to violate that statute. Anyways, after sending a refusal letter they can't contact you(per the FDCPA). The only option they have left is to sue(which they never do). Haven't heard from them since |

With stealth info, this obviously would be difficult. |
| GreenBean | 01-28-2016 01:08 AM | Re: Can eBay collect seller fees after they shut you down? OP has already indicated he is going to meet his obligations and pay the fees.
Keep in mind, forum is for users treated unfairly by ebay/paypal, and not a place to encourage avoiding obligations.

Ive never seen a case of that happening. They arent going to risk an FCRA or FDCPA violation over eBay fees unless the amount is significant. There is a reason the debt collectors dont sue on these type of debts.
Also there is no credit agreement between eBay and the seller.
Just my 2cents |

Just my 2cents | Do a simple Google search. Numerous credit forums reporting exact opposite of what you claim. |

Just my 2cents | Not another waste of money.
The T & S agreed to when an ebay account was created covered this ....by default.
