Default How can I save my VMware files?

I am upgrading my computer and want to transfer all my files from this current computer to another computer or manage it on more computers.

How can I transfer the vmware users to another computer? is this possible? If I just transfer the vmware folder to another computer with vmware on it, will it mirror the users?

I got vmware workstation 12. I just installed using recommended settings. My vmware folder is in my document folder>>virtual machine>>windows 7. This is where all my users are at when I log into vmware. Is this also the folder I need to save when moving to a different computer?

If I copy and transfer that folder to another computer, will all my users appear on my new computer?

If you copy the folder "Virtual Machine" which contains your VMWare accounts you should be able to open it again.

I would recommend running your VMWare's off a Stable Portable Drive.

Hey, do you think it would be a good idea to save my vm files on a dropbox or mediafire? Portable drive do tend to break out of nowhere sometimes.

I do both. All of mine are backed up on a portable HDD and on cloud storage.

VM's are extremely portable. Using USB 3.0 and solid state storage you can easily boot you VM's from a flash drive. You just need workstation installed on your PC, it really doesn't matter where the VM files are stored.

Gotta start backing up my stuff, I'll be hitting 3 digits of stable accounts soon. Now I need to get a new laptop too for travels. Any recommendations? I think 4GB won't be enough, thinking of getting an 8 GB one.

I have a years old account with godaddy I use. The domain has been gone for a while but I've kept the hosting service.

https://mega.nz/ is also a good options. I've never used them but one of the account sellers here uses Mega to deliver stealth accounts to customers. They give you 50gb for free.

Do you backup your files every time after you finish what you are doing?

Mega doesn't have a desktop auto sync, do they?

Amazon cloud drive. Unlimited space for about $60/year. Desktop app for both Windows and Mac.
