Ebay being fair? Madness!
So I had a listing removed this week on one of my accounts for violation of medical selling policy. BAsically saying I need a prescription to sell it, which was crap. Unfortunately it was my second violation of the same thing which was again not actually correct, but I just shrugged it off and didn't relist that item again as I only had 2 in stock.
BEcause it was a second violation they suspended me from listing for 3 days and confirmed 'strike 2'. Now this got me concerned so I emailed them.
I firstly sincerely apologised for violating policy in their eyes but explained that the basis on me listing was scanning ebay for the item as part of my market research. I noticed various other sellers selling the item and 2 others selling the exact same brand of product. Therefore I used their own 'sell it yourself' button on the said listing and went from there. I linked the same listing and the other general items also.
To be fair to ebay I got a detailed email back agreeing that it was an honest mistake as I followed other listers actions and clicked 'sell it yourself'. They reinstated me and took the second strike off my record completely.
Additionally they took the other listings down.
Might be worth taking note for future 'violations' if you write in a polite clear manner and stating that you just followed other listings with multiple sales as a guide .
