The pictures are a very easy way for them to link accounts if the same picture is used in both auctions - especially if the data on the picture was not deleted before uploading it. That data is a dead giveaway.

wow that's weird. So if you want to sell same stuff on several accounts you have to modify all the pics and descriptions, that's a lot of work!

If you have cleared the data correctly, you have lowered the chances.
But if you are selling the same items over a couple of accounts, then a manual review could find out a match.
Any chance of expanding on why you asked the question?

Heres a Simple Trick I use and it works every time.. as far as pictures if your selling the same item across many accounts.. simply change the background and the angle you take your pics.
for example if i was selling a key chain the same one on 2 different accounts. i will take a pic with a blue fabric as the background then I will take another picture with a red fabric background and change a few angles.... they will NEVER KNOW hahaha

Nyco - good approach with new pics
@OP, you should not re-use the same description and text across accounts

If your getting banned on new accounts after putting up your first listing, and your photos have been cleaned of all exif data than its most likely something else. Specifically
IP Address
Flash Cookies, make sure you use a new user account
Or using the same registration details across accounts

Then to be safe just use pics you find on google images. Everybody use them, ebay can't ban you from using pics everybody use. At least I hope so...

Ebay may not ban you on using stock images but a VERO agent can get your listings pulled if they don't like the image being used.

Listings on ebay are full of stock images. When you sell a new item it's obvisous you'll use supplier or stock photos, ebay know this and they won't ban you for that (if evrything you do next to this is correct).
To be extra safe you can add a logo or text on the pic before uploading it.

It is preferable to use your own images.
If you run multiple accounts, then for sure you make your own unique photos.
You do the ground work to make money....
Money is the game result. |

Description alone - unlikely. They know people just copy and paste other peoples hard work.
Pictures - potentially.
Both - even more likely.
Not following other stealth tips - that would be enough for them to link you.
Its not always one thing, rather a multitude of little things that will link you.

When you do dropshiping you can't take original pics of the products you're selling. So there is only one way, use stock pics (and watermark them if you want to be extrasafe)
