Default Sort by price... Confirmed *not* working

I was limited and my sales plummeted accordingly... It got to the point my only items that were selling were low cost leaders. The cheapest one on eBay. Recently even that stopped... I haven't sold a single item in two weeks.

I have confirmed on my end (and who knows how many other buyers) the 'sort by price low to high' is not working!! For example, when searching for breaking bad DVD, there used to be thousands of hits for $5-10. Now, items in the $25-29 range are on the first page as lowest price plus shipping. There are even $40 international items on page 1.

Not sure what they're screwing with now... But they really need to get it together. If I can't sort by price, who knows how many buyers have the same issue.

Both. It happened on other items I was searching for too. But that was the most clear example... When I looked at it and thought 'that's not right!'. One day there were hundreds under $10... Now not a single $10 and under on first two pages.

Email a complaint to ebay. They are fidgeting with search ranks/international sellers. My sales spiked and then plummeted recently. I know a lot of people have been complaining to ebay.

Just checked.
Dont see any issue with sorting by price. I used your 'breaking bad DVD' to check and see plenty of titles in the $5 range as you stated (well more like $9-10 with shipping for a DVD set).

Upon checking again today, all seems to be well again. There are suddenly several of what I was looking for (season 3 $5-$10) so not sure what was going on a few days ago but it does not appear to be an inventory problem, instead an eBay problem. It also happened on several other searches over a couple day period.

Just happened again in another form... I typed in 'volvo'.... And eBay was nice enough to filter and only show me 480 items in the category volvo... Instead of all 5,000,000 items with volvo in the title. Thanks eBay, but I'm not buying a vehicle today! I can not remove this parameter... I click on it, and hoped to select 'none' or 'all'... But there is no option to change it or remove it.

I made a new search... Changed to completed items, and changed the search term to 'v70' .... And it changed the parameters to only show parts with 'model: v70' selected (couple hundred) instead of the couple thousand items with v70 in the title, which is what I am searching for.

I can not remove this stupid 'make:v70' parameter no matter what I do!!! It's showing as one of the 4 search parameters, in addition to the parameters I actually did select. (Completed, sold, used)

Getting really sick of eBay thinking they know what's best... I can't find what I need!

Try looking on the left side of page there is a filter that sorts listing by the closest distance to your zip code, usually by a 100 miles.. uncheck that box so you can see everything on ebay nationwide and internationally

Checked again.
No issues.
This must be something on your end.
Did you try different browsers? Different accounts altogether?

I figured out the breaking bad issue as well. It is eBay thinking thy know what's best. What happened was... Breaking bad is so popular, there were lots of $2 knick knacks.. From stickers to little costume jewelry. So when I specified 'breaking bad season 3 DVD' it thought it'd be helpful and only show me blue ray. Which would be great.... If I had a blue ray player. The more expensive movies were blue ray, so it declined to show me the multiple regular DVDs for $5

I do believe this has happened only on the mobile app. But it comes and goes. The volvo search went through properly shortly after. Breaking bad finally went through properly as well. Lots of $5 DVDs.

Given mobile devices make up something like 75-80% of sales... It kind of sucks they can't get these app glitches (or purposely done tweaks?) in order.

Not to beat a dead horse, but another example today. Randomly stumbled across a good deal on cat flea crap. With summer here, I thought if see what it'd sell for.

I searched 'cat flea'..... And noticed it automatically changed the category to 'flea remedies' and only produced 1,526 results. This time it did allow me to select 'all categories'... With 3,066 results. Great it's letting me change the filter I did not select.... But eBay conviently cut out over 1,500 sellers auctions from the initial search result.

If you're not an experienced ebayer, or didn't think to check why the result count seemed low, over half of the listings are getting systematically hidden from the results page. The average grandma, or whoever, will buy from the 1,526 eBay somehow decided to show her without a second thought.
