Buyer wants to return an item because....

The did not receive it in the mail yet....and they leave for vacation soon.
Buyer msg w/return basically says sorry for the trouble I'm leaving for vacation soon and I can't pick it up from post office so I'll return it then order it again in 4 weeks...

Anyway for me to avoid this return?

You could try to fight it it but if they really want to return it then they will be allowed to by eBay

No reply but suggestions to deal with the issue.....

How is the item being sent?

Is it already sent?

What INFO have you gathered from the buyer to deal with this?

I feel incredibly fortunate to not sell the items you do to attract such odd and basic selling problems.

My suggestion is to do nothing. If they open a return request then take the return. Why fight with such things? Are your items hard to move so you feel the need to force the sale? Or are you desperate for the funds? If so, that is a terrible mental habit to get into.

Taking the return would cost me $45 out of pocket..that's a rough hit

If the buyer changes his mind why would you pay for return shipping? Just give them return address and be done with it, move on to bigger and better things...

Sending you some good vibes my brother!

if you were selling $100k a week or whatever it was you said you wouldn't worry about these issues when theres a 99% chance you won't be able to do anything about it, they just come out of your profit.
Get item back, sell item again, done.

Yep. Called him out on this earlier as well. $100k a week, and $45 is an issue...

It's probably too late, but what I would have done is accepted the return and when he doesn't return the item in time, just call ebay and close the case in your favor. Once they realize they still want the item, they will just keep it.

There are a lot of people too lazy to return items too...

I would tell them to refuse the package so its returned and you don't have to pay return shipping and the ebay fees will be given back to you when you cancel the order. You would lose out on the initial shipping but that's business.

Even i make only 1% profit after fees&shipping out 100k a week, $45 would not be an issue :)
