| | | Retailer77 | 06-19-2016 08:02 PM | My first case closed without resolution...not very fair The buyer purchased an item from me which they had wanted to return ....i approved the return no problem.
I got a message from ebay stating I should have received the item by now.
I did not receive ANYTHING, so I messaged the buyer and said I will go check my mailbox to ensure if anything has been dropped off...nothing was there.
Now I get a message today stating a case has been opened and ebay literally took about 5 min and sent me a response stating they have issues the buyer a refund because the refund I was supposed to issue the buyer was never sent.....theres NO proof of delivery confirmation on the buyers end and I never received the item....what the heck?? |
| yankee | 06-19-2016 08:26 PM | Re: My first case closed without resolution...not very fair call them up. 2 minute fix and if no tracking was supplied, ebay will send you a paypal payment. |

| Retailer77 | 06-19-2016 08:32 PM | Re: My first case closed without resolution...not very fair I do remember on my last account that they provide a "grace" removal of the first case closed without seller resolution for newer sellers, do you know if this still applies? |
| Retailer77 | 06-19-2016 08:37 PM | One case closed without seller resolution..how bad am i screwed? Ive had about 350 transaction on this account so far....and just got a case closed without resolution in the buyers favor....I basically got robbed as I never received the item..
How badly will this hurt my account?
It is only one...but as I read on the ebay site its maximum is 0.3%...which already puts me at the max. |
| yankee | 06-19-2016 08:41 PM | Re: My first case closed without resolution...not very fair what does the tracking show?
Delivered to the correct zip code? |
| yankee | 06-19-2016 08:43 PM | Re: One case closed without seller resolution..how bad am i screwed? You already stated your mathematical equation. Sounds like you are at .28% or so.
So dont make the same mistake again and work to get this one removed. |

So I am technically over my max then?? |
| yankee | 06-19-2016 08:52 PM | Re: One case closed without seller resolution..how bad am i screwed? You are under.
1 and .05 would be .30%
You are just at 1 so just under the .30%
Make sure you dont get a .05 or more unresolved cases :) |

So dont make the same mistake again and work to get this one removed. | I called ebay about getting it removed and told them the entire situation.
They sent me a ic3.gov form to file the report online.
In this email from ebay they also stated "keep in mind ebay will not be able to cover your if this happens again in the future"
SO I am assuming this is good news for now, as I might just be able to get this one removed....seriously crossing my fingers man..I just purchased over 25k in inventory |
| yankee | 06-19-2016 08:58 PM | Re: One case closed without seller resolution..how bad am i screwed? IF you truly feel no error was made on your end or the USPS end, then go forward with the fraud report.
IF you are not sure, then consider that this person will have a government fraud report on them for many years to come. If they are a scammer, GREAT, eventually a pattern will show and action taken. If not, you tarnish someone who did nothing wrong.
Wish you luck with whatever route you choose to take :peace: |

The thing is that it may have not even been the buyers fault...I just never got the item they claim to have shipped me back...what if my neighbors took the item or it was delivered to the wrong address??? What is the carrier marked it as received and took the item for themselves??
It sucks that I need to file this report but I really have no choice...I need to do it. |
| yankee | 06-19-2016 09:06 PM | Re: One case closed without seller resolution..how bad am i screwed? Everytime I sell a compound bow and someone returns me a very used or abused(dryfired and broken) and ebay issues the buyer a refund, I file the report and make ebay send me the funds.
But if it is not abuse or a scammer, then I dont.
Another way of looking at it is give it a day or two and see if it shows up, call USPS and inquire about it etc... |

even if i DO win the IC3 case, does the case closed without resolution still stay on my account or would it get removed??
I guess the best thing for me to do now is sell a ton of cheap stuff and knock out a couple hundred transactions to get out of the red zone.. |

I would call and find out why you did not get a reminder from ebay to issue a refund. It could be settings or maybe they don't do that anymore. I don't get hardly any returns at all. |

Please do not open duplicate threads regarding the same issue, especially since you have many problems as a seller. ;)
Your 2 threads were merged, next time we will delete the 2nd thread. Thanks |

Right now I'm way too close the max. |
| GreenBean | 06-19-2016 10:43 PM | Re: One case closed without seller resolution..how bad am i screwed? Before you do that, take a minute to regroup.
Make sure you are sorted with shipping, try not to rush, AND
Take a deep breath.

| james13v | 06-20-2016 10:10 AM | Re: One case closed without seller resolution..how bad am i screwed? one won't hurt you. 2 will destroy your account
Yes filing that report, they will erase the defect. But they will do this only ONCE. Just make sure tho not let these things get past the due date. Buyer calls into ebay, and they will close the case RIGHT AWAY.
I've managed to get a few removed. Really depends on what kind of person you get on the phone. |
| james13v | 06-20-2016 10:38 AM | Re: One case closed without seller resolution..how bad am i screwed? Your other thread says you sell 1000 items a week. $300 average each . So how are you having trouble, when you sell $300,000 a month? |
| newjerseymax | 06-20-2016 12:26 PM | Re: One case closed without seller resolution..how bad am i screwed? Have you gotten anything else on that day? Maybe that person just sent you something else and used that tracking number. Do you remember getting anything that day which had tracking on it?
It is quite simple for a return to be a postcard instead of item and it will show returned.
Scammers are using this loop hole in system to get free stuff. It didn't cost them anything as you paid for label.... |
| Retailer77 | 06-20-2016 02:54 PM | Re: One case closed without seller resolution..how bad am i screwed? Do you guys know if one case closed without resolution will effect search visibility of my items?
It doesn't seem like it ..as visibility is still pretty good..but just checking |
| Retailer77 | 06-20-2016 02:56 PM | Re: One case closed without seller resolution..how bad am i screwed? In order to file the complaint I need the buyers phone number...I inquired it from eBay but still haven't gotten it |

+ ebay will never give you this kind of information !! Imagine ebay gives your phone number to unhappy customers ... Something is wrong with the way you think |
