Who the hell issues a refund for a $600 dollar phone in exchange for a return? The buyer already said they got an empty box - do you honestly think that he's going to ship the iPhone back?
Find something else to do buddy. Sounds like eBay selling is not for you. |

Find something else to do buddy. Sounds like eBay selling is not for you. | he is an occasional seller and unexperimented. Paypal do everything they can for a new seller feel proctected and especially occasional/new seller. Sure he made a mistake, but he is also learning, and you are lucky if nothing like that has happend to you in the past. On this forum, many people have lost much more money than this to learn what they now know and share. |

Re: Ebay buyer claiming that he received an empty iPhone 6S box I don't know why there are posts telling the OP to give up - that's not the spirit of selling. Yes, some things you let go, other's you don't.
OP - the account is all real details. Pursue the matter with PayPal / eBay - Contact them via social media as they tend to be more likely to do something about it.
If they don't, and you really want to take this buyer down, you have option to take them to a small claims court. Of course it may prove costly, but I certainly would go the extra smile to take the smirk of a scammers face. |

My time is money and the amount of time with court, etc is just not worth my money. Best to move on to somethin more productive and leave the scammer catching to those that get paid for it...
If it makes your inner self feel better then go for it. Its just not for me. |
| BigCJ | 08-04-2016 11:46 AM | Re: Ebay buyer claiming that he received an empty iPhone 6S box OP, if you purchased this phone from a retailer, you have recourse.
Even in the UK.
Call the retailer AND apple.
Give them the day/date and time of purchase, your name, method of purchase. Get proof and receipts.
Have apple lock the phone down (Brick it)
Send this all to paypal/ebay
Call (Yes, call them) the buyer and inform them that there is an ongoing investigation, the phone is bricked, and you gave the refund to keep your hands clean from theft and that their personal info will be passed along to the postal system as well as the police and that they will contact them within the next few days as opening a parcel designated other than the purchaser is mail fraud.
File an IC3 complaint and send it all to paypal.
What paypal might end up doing is just issuing YOU a refund just to call all of this off. |

but I can't believe no one else thought about bricking the iphone the minute this whole thing happened. Wow. We are all slow lol |
| newjerseymax | 08-04-2016 01:46 PM | Re: Ebay buyer claiming that he received an empty iPhone 6S box There are ways around "bricking" the phone... Even if scammer doesn't know way around it, he probably has resold it and passed the problem on to the next victim. |
| Anutex | 08-04-2016 08:50 PM | Re: Ebay buyer claiming that he received an empty iPhone 6S box If he is a scammer and if he is doing it professionally , He took his money back anonymously and instantly , And the phone is sold long time ago , I'm sorry to say but too many resources are available if you have the knowledge.
I would give up after he got the refund.
It's all depends if he is professional or not , Anyway i would suggest to save your time , get over it and focus on making money instead. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 06:12 PM. | |
