Best Ways to Get Feedback FAST

I hate this 21-Day Hold. I like to have my money right after I close. What are some tricks you guys use to get buyers to leave feedback?

I was thinking about starting to call EVERY buyer and ask them to leave feedback. I thought the conversion rate would probably be in the 90th percentile compared to asking them through eBay Messaging which I've had horrible success with.

Any other options?

I use low cost items to break in the account so I don't have so much tied up holds. then bring in my normal items.

That is the key. It takes time, but thats how to break it.

when I ask people politely to leave FB it seems like it takes them longer.. or they never do.

lakeman 05-17-2009 09:49 AM

I am constantly getting messages from buyers asking to please leave feedback, so I set up my auctiva account to leave automatic feedback once received and now I tell buyers its automatic when they ask. They usually leave feedback instantly because they also want positive.

Jonas 05-17-2009 12:37 PM

lakeman, that's dangerous because you get non pay bidders leaving positives some times and you leave em positives back automatically.

lakeman 05-17-2009 01:07 PM

Selling on ebay is dangerous.:D I guess that's possible but that hasn't happened to me yet. If it does you can still open a nonpaying dispute. I wonder if anyone else who uses automatic feedback thinks its a bad idea.

GreenBean 05-17-2009 05:49 PM

^^^ Catch22,lakeman. Useful from a time pov but if there are problems down the line, the +ve FB does not work. FB within 5 mins of the auction closing? nah:peace:

i wish there was a way that you could tell if a person leaves auto feedback.. cause then you can by cheap stuff, and leave pos feedback then they would leave you +... easy eay to get your 5 FB's :)

Normally you can tell by going into their feedback left for others, they normally have about 10 different messages that their system leaves. Also people with over 500 feedback usually use automatic feedback programs.

hitch, you gotta 'sell' them idea of leaving feedback, not ask them. When you ship, include a message about how happy you are to have done business with them, eager to know all is OK AND if there's troubles more eager to know so to resolve things. Say that if they are happy so are you and FB will be exchanged
etc.

If you sent me a message and asked for Feedback outright, I'd suddenly be so busy....get my drift:peace:

how many feedbacks are needed before there isn't a 21 day hold? I like the idea of selling low cost items first. If possible could you give an example? Such as do you mean selling items like ebooks and $1 auctions?

Yes,
I'm going to start using small slips in the packaging as a reminder to leave a + feedback. :D

This is seen as feedback manipulation: accounts get lost because of this. Look at what your main selling item will be and sell accessories associated with it. That will earn money & feedback. As to the question when will there be no 21 day hold, the best answer is when you do not use paypal:pout:

Ive currently got 30 feedback on my account and if people would leave feedback id have over 200. Thats how bad its gotten. What really annoys me is people who have a problem and threaten to leave negative feedback if i dont solve it suddently disappear when i do solve it and ask them to leave positive. I think the ebay should step in with the feedback process. You can upload tracking numbers to ebay and paypal so they know when you do. Create a generic email. So after you upload the tracking number maybe 5-7 days afterwards its just like hey if your purchase with the ebay seller went great why not leave him some positive feedback, feedback will show that this member is trustworthy blah blah and have a link to do it.

lakeman 05-19-2009 03:56 PM

Auctiva also has the option to send reminder emails to leave feedback.

aking 05-19-2009 04:52 PM

u just have to have multiple accounts, at least 5. Luckily my first one was at 20 DSR before the trick ended. One of my accounts is free with no holds, and one should be free this week, I just need 2 more DSR points. The other 3 accounts are selling cheap items to get them free. After the holds stop, I start selling my normal items and transfer my money out ASAP.

You just have to play by Paypal's rules and you will be ok. :)

i had a buyer actually tell me to leave them postive feedback first since they paid for it promptly or they will leave me negative.
i hesitated by gave them a postive feedback, few days later they gave me one too

dilzsaran 06-18-2009 09:39 AM

Selling ebooks For low cost and get at least 20 +ive feedback and DSR rating is the best think
