Feedback advice please
 
Hi guys, quick question just to get this off my chest. Hoping for a bit of advice if possible.

I've been selling hot water bottles (sourced from China) for a short while and got a DM from a customer saying it was leaking. I sprung into action and agreed to send her a new one, refund her postage costs for sending mine back and it was all seemingly sorted in a friendly manner.

Next thing a neutral feedback drops where she just openly says it was leaking and had to send back! I've tested it rigorously since the return and clearly she wasn't tightening the stopper properly so it wasn't even leaking.

Sorry so long. Only got a handful of reviews so this looks bad. Should I reply or just let it go and move on.

I usually leave neutral feedback alone if its just one. more than two could look bad.

feedbacks means less these days,all they care is how cheap the item is.
With Ebay MBG,buyers can always return with seller paying for return shipping and get their money back.

Neutral feedback definitely affects sales for me in more than one way in my experience. It is not aesthetically pleasing for potential customers but despite what eBay says, my sales, search position and views are always negatively affected by feedback short of 5 stars, neutral or negative.

Feedback revision also puts on a show. It has no positive bearing on your matrics once the damage is done.

I would be contacting her to revise it but if she declines, a feedback response along the following line may help sway potential customers:

"Customer's return passed leak test. Speedily replaced to keep my customer happy"

Thanks for the valuable advice everyone. I've been mulling over it.

I've not made a single sale since the feedback but I'm trying to be positive and putting it down to the fact that it's post-Christmas and nobody has any money.

Appreciated.

Neutral feedback means nothing, its not affect your account you can be relax :)

Neutral fb won't effect your account.

But you can add a "cost" to feedback. Is it worth may be letting them have a freebie for them to change that mutual to a positive ? All depends how much you value feedback.

I've given free items to have feedback changed or removed. And then I have also blocked them from buying from me. But I was nice about the whole thing being polite all the way (although I was swearing out loud in my office lol).

I can help it . i have lots of ebay and paypal account .
and i provide tracking mumber by UPS. i pay paypal fee and ebay fee
that is all free for you
