eBay should REQUIRE buyers to leave feedback =/

I just got off the phone with the ebay customer service for the thousanth time regarding the "limits" on my account.

Basically my limit is 150 items a month and I have proven that i have only listed and sold a combined total of 120 for the month and their system is still flagging me as reaching the limit.

They sent 3 appeals to the T&S department who denied all 3 with one of their reasons being the fact that I only have 58 feedback.

I only have 58 feedback because I still have over 30 SOLD ITEMS that are literally all over 3 weeks old with buyers who NEVER LEFT FEEDBACK....

GAH this makes me so mad :mad2::mad2::mad2::rant::rant::rant:

ShadyOne 05-29-2011 01:07 PM

Hmmm, I understand where you are coming from with buyers not leaving feedback but the majority of sellers will get enough feedback/dsr's in a 12 month period to have increased/no limits.

I have multiple accounts to stop things like this effecting my selling.

oompaloompa 05-29-2011 01:21 PM

that could throw up probs too, I mean if someone does not leave feedback, it can sometimes mean they were not keen on it, but not bothered to return or cause a fuss, and you dont want them saying so necessarily.

ShadyOne 05-29-2011 01:55 PM

Exactly, I think the moto these days on eBay is "No feedback is good feedback". Which is true to an extent.

I never chase up feedback as this can lead to what oompa is talking about.

Imakemoney 05-29-2011 01:57 PM

Agreed - pushing buyers for feedback is not always a good thing.

Would rather they give me no feedback than negative feedback.

Sandy D 05-30-2011 10:25 AM

I have found out if they are going to leave feedback they will. If you beg them for it they either ignore you or leave a not so wonderful comment.

I understand where you are coming from but there are some buyers out there you just dont want feedback from.

NotAHappyBunny 05-30-2011 01:56 PM

Some people just cant be bothered leaving feedback unless they are really p'd off. There are also ppl who don't use very eb often - not everyone shops there constantly.
I personally would'nt push for feedback - as someone earlier pointed out, nowadays with the power of dsr's, no feedback can be a good thing.

I'm experimenting at the moment somewhat with my effort in pleasing buyers, I am posting the next working day including Saturday. Im also sometimes affering postage that is lower or just a few pence off what i charge them. I am emailling each buyer to confirm postage on the same day/evening of postage. I'm offering recorded delivery on items over a certain amount, but still quite low in price.
Hopefully my efforts will pay off, but im not optimistic - buyers use sellers to vent these days.

ShadyOne 05-30-2011 02:25 PM

^ Your efforts will certainly pay off. I use these and many more selling techniques to please the buyers of eBay! Makes a massive difference.

GTB 05-30-2011 03:36 PM

yup, showing a buyer that you appreciate their custom can go a long way

by going that extra mile it shows them that you are trying to give them a good pleasant buying experience and most respect that

there are some sellers that couldnt give a sheet if they provide a good service or not, they dont care about you or if you get what you paid for

i personally like to make buyers feel welcome and that they dont have to worry.......about a thing..............coz every little thing`s...gonna be alright:clap:

its the same as been served in a shop,....you go to a shop, some guy with an attitude problem and a face like a slapped arse serves you,you walk out thinking what a prick
but if he`d of spoken politely and smiled etc you would think to yourself, nice guy, give him a tip

its all about providing a nice buying experience, even if you are having a sheet day and hate the world

good manners cost you nothing, bad manners can cost you a fortune

Monkies can be trained.

Buyers can be trained.

Sellers can be trained.

Win Win and feedback :cheer:

ShadyOne 05-31-2011 02:04 PM

eBay should train monkies to chase up buyers who have not left feedback! Afterall they train them to use phones :p

Giardino 06-11-2011 06:41 AM

i've got it! Affix a netbook to each shipment that says "open me" on it. When you open it it goes to the eBay feedback page and they cant open the rest of the package until they leave feedback....

Genius...

ShadyOne 06-11-2011 07:10 AM

^ If you are selling notebooks on eBay, then you could fiddle with them and set the home page to open as the 'Leave Feedback' page :p

Giardino 06-13-2011 12:11 PM

Bahahah or whatever OS comes with the netbook, make the password a secret that you will only release once they leave feedback >_> <_<

On another thread Kingray gave us a note he uses and I pinched it. Everytime I send anything out I now include a little note. This is it:

Hi there

Thank you so much for buying from me on Ebay

I hope I have shipped this item to you in a manner that is consistent with your needs and I hope you are happy with your purchase.

Please take the time to leave me positive feedback along with 5 star seller ratings in all categories. Any less than perfect and eBay will frown upon it which will directly affect my seller status. eBay's new rules are very strict with sellers these days. If I have performed any less than perfect, please contact me before leaving feedback.

Please let me know if you would like me to leave you feedback

Please feel free to email me at stealthersRus@gmail.com at any time

Best Wishes

Thank you Kingray for the heads up

Can't you put something like that in your packaging to remind your buyers?
:pop2:

ShadyOne 06-13-2011 01:13 PM

^ A lot of people do this.

I used to get a lot of them from eBay purchases, but just threw them away :p

Hypocrite aye!

GrannyT 06-13-2011 01:18 PM

I agree 100%
Sellers should also be able to leave negative for unpaid items :amen:

Yeah but I always left feedback anyway ;)

Especially to the sellers who haven't yet left me any. Incentive to the buyer, getting feedback for leaving feedback.

atlantaarcades 07-14-2011 12:30 AM

Funny and true as hell!

Good one!!.... best humor on here I have seen to date, and I have seen much.
Oh how true about the CS being trained monkeys, and not well trained ones at that.

Haha yea I never ask for feedback on any item, you could remind them that they were upset about something. If they are truly really happy they will leave it for you anyway.

RomexTM 10-02-2011 01:43 PM

On a new account I sold 5 items and none of the customers left feedback, I stayed with a 0 Feedback Seller account that really pissed me off
