Re: ebay fees are crazy high

Consider this, traffic is king and eBay has it.

They spend a lot of $ to make that happen, so a fee of that nature isn't really ridiculous.

If you were to do it from your own website you'll have to build your traffic, marketing, branding etc. It's tough.

Not to mention inflation nowadays and prices of everything are skyrocketing.

if your selling status is below standard, there is 6% extra.
OP should just go to his seller account and see the breakdown of that 17% fee.

when you list the item, before you confirm the listing,it should tell you how much is the listing fee, most are free, but if you use some of its features ,it would cost you and it would show how much is your listing fee before you confirm.

yes i get it but £36 fees for using a reserve price is extreme and i never notice the fee when i used it i thought it was £2.00 as that would of been okay for me
i cant get over £36 its a rippoff i believe it charged at 4% and why is it so expensive.
subtitles are £2.00 thats crazy pricing and what if the item your selling was only £5.00
ebay make 10 billion a year and sellers seem to get the scraps.
one bad buyer returning a expensive item as broken can cost you a months
of earnings and make you depressed.

You can ask for a fees discount on eBay by contacting customer support and explaining why you believe you deserve a discount. You may be eligible for a discount if you are a high-volume seller, have a good seller rating, or are selling items in a new or growing category.
