My experience -- They put your name on it. They charge a $5 handling fee. You have to wait about 3-5 days to receive the card. You go into the branch to retrieve it, cannot be mailed.

Default Is it still OK to Use One Time Payments on Seller Fees?

...with a Paypal account that used to have a banned email? Or should we use money orders?

I'm afraid that if I use MO's that will be a red flag.

I recently set up 2 EB accounts and 2 PP acounts each using a S GC. I plan on paying from each PP account since there will be $ from sales in there anyway. Hoping to keep revenues under $500/mo for each account and just make weekly transfers to my Verified for withdrawal.

Why would paying with a money order be a red flag?????

I was planning on doing this.

Either or Chris. But sooner or later, regardless of whether you want them to or not, if you have Paypal as a payment option, you're going to have to upgrade to premier.

If someone registers with a CC (or in most of our cases a GC) and then uses anonymous MOs to pay every month wouldn't you be suspicious? I

I could be over-paranoid, but I've learned that it is better to feel this way when dealing with EB...better to error on the side of caution.

I have a premier/verified account and other than it was the first PP account I established because I didn't have a CC it was drawn from a bank account, so I am assuming that is how it got "verified"
I have a "premier" account and don't even know whay makes it different and how you get it.
Can someone clear this up for me?

It is just my opinion, but eBay hates anonymity and paying with a MO IMO is another anonymous action that would make you look (to eBay) like you are trying to hide something...which of course we are all having to do.

You have the choice of personal or premier accounts when you register. If you receive a credit card payment or paypal funded with CC, you have to upgrade to a premier. You can downgrade, but just once. After that, you're stuck.

What is involved with upgrading? Once you've upgraded why wouldn't you leave it as such? I have to admit that I am really ignorant with PP and am still climbing slowly up the learning curve.

Before finding this site I had no ideas with the problems people have with PP. Mine (verified/premier) has served me perfectly since I started it several years ago, accept for one PO'd buyer who claimed that I didn't send the same item as pictured. She asked for a refund, I said no, so she basically lied to PP and they froze my account pending an incestigation and appeal. I said "F" it and just refunded and the account was released immeadiately.

I guess I don't really know the difference between the types of PP accounts and could stand to read a FAQ if there is one.

Obviously the better accounts will require providing more info which PP might be providing to EB and therefore tightening the noose around our necks.

No fees with personal accounts so Paypal doesn't like you to sell with them. They call them the "once in a while" payment plan.

So it can be a "personal" account, i.e. for me to pay for an item.
If I take a single payment to that account does it automatically become "premier" or do let let you take an occasional payment and then at some point "put a stop to it"

I am assuming by fees you are talking about when someone sends you $100, you actually get about $95

Am I starting to grasp this?

Sort of. Once you upgrade, every single payment you receive will have a piece taken out of it for Paypal/Ebay. You can downgrade to a personal one time out of courtesy.

I forgot to mention, you can receive I think it's up to 3 payments per year from a credit card under a personal account, only so long as you're under your account limit ($500 per month) and never upgraded. I think that's how it works. But they do take out fees for it and it's about double.

You always have the option at Paypal to refuse or accept a payment. If you accept the payment, you upgrade the account. If you refuse, nothing changes. Of course if it's an ebay transaction, ebay makes you upgrade--unless you want to fight them on it, but you open yourself up to a complaint from your buyer and a possible suspension from ebay. Nice isn't it?

So if I am understanding you correctly, if I take any amount of CC payments or receive payments regularly, I will be bumped up to Premier?

If that is the case, it's no different that what I have been living with on my account for years and I just look at it as the cost of doing business.

I think I understand now, correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks for clarifying

Yes you just jumped straight to point B. No difference if you're accepting CC. You could theoretically get by with a personal account for a long time provided you never received a credit card. But in this day and age, that's not going to happen.

I don't see the point. They've already got your CC#. Just stick with that.
