How to pay eBay fee's??

I keep seeing threads on this topic. I have always made pay pal my default payment method and just wait for eBay to take their fee's. Is there some sort of problem with this? It seems like the obvious choice. I have always linked the stealth eBay to the stealth Pay Pal. Can some one please explain?

In the US I believe you have alternatives to Paypal. Here in the UK we have to offer Paypal and so UK sellers tend to pay their Ebay fees with Paypal

Point of not using paypal is giving yourself an extra layer of protection for having paypal having access to YOUR MONEY

So should I stop allowing this on existing accounts and do it for all future accounts or should I keep the existing accounts the same and just do it differently in the future?

All you need to do is when you receive the invoice from EB, give it 2 - 3 days and just pay it straight away. If you have more than one account just spread the way you pay.

I pay using the CC on file, If PP is going to take it automatically make sure there is enough funds in your account.

The disadvantage of using the automatic payment is that if there is a glitch in the system and they try to take the fees twice and there is not enough funds in the account then PP will take further funds from your Bank Account where they will see your real details. But again some people might say I am paranoid and that will never happen..............

on a related note (didn't want to start a new thread) is there a way of setting up your fees to ALWAYS be paid as one-off payments? Whenever I get the notification from eb it says "the amount of xx is due and will be deducted between date x and y by your automatic payment method on file (paypal)." Each time I get this, I go an CANCEL the automatic payment method, and make the one-time payment myself through paypal. Then obviously the system then reverts straight back to putting it on file as an automatic method for the next months! Trying to stay under the radar so don't want to ebay livechat/email about paying fees of all things, simply want NO automatic payment method in place, just to ALWAYS be told about the fees due, then make the payment myself.

Crafty, I have been told here to NEVER pay eBay fees through Pay pal, Apparently there is some big secret as to why, and nobody here is willing to divulge this secret. Are you saying pay my eBay fee's with papal but to just do it Before the automatic withdraw?. This topic seems to be more complicated than the entire Stealth accounts themselves.

I don't see why people are scared of using paypal to pay for fee's. I've been paying all my fee's on all my accounts with Paypal. Maybe I'm just crazy...I don't know.

We are suggesting, recommending an alternative method to preclude paypal from getting its evil claws on the funds of a bank account.

Controlling fees payment is one extra layer of security, in my opinion.

payal get limited access to MY monies.

paypal are not sniffing around & possibly seeing different names

paypal are not getting any avoidable access to MY monies.

I am not forced into having overdraft fees because paypal touched MY monies.***

paypal can not be trusted is the most simple reason of any.

I always use credit card on file option, It has some advantages more than being safe and organizing payments...etc. if the credit card tht you will use has the same information as in your Ebay account, you might have a good surprise when you will start to sell

Wait...If you attach your PayPal account (which has a bank account linked) to eBay to pay fees...Do they take the money from your PayPal balance or your bank account????

I pay all my fees every Saturday before I close my books for that week. Not necessary at all - just the way I choose to do it

PP won't take funds from your bank account unless you don't have enough funds in your PP acct or they take it accidently - meaning a glitch in the system.......

I can see where some people here are coming from (in regards to not letting PayPal automatically pay for them) and how they use credit cards instead. However this would seem like such a GIANT hassle. I'd have to buy like 30 prepaid credit cards every month, enter in all the #s, register names for each card, etc... :/

But whoever's managing to pay their fees by credit card - props to you. I don't think I could manage that.
