MP - when do they ask for a bank statement?

When you enter your bank account, what options do you get to verify it?
Do you need to upload altered bank statement (with real or stealth name?? depending which name you put in before enrolling in mp) in each and every case?

Which country?

USA MP I just gave my online banking login and linked my bank account, no questions asked.

Canada MP on the other hand, attempting to enroll a personal account, will ask you for a bank statement or voided check during registration.

No experience with UK if that's what you're talking about.
