Possible TIP for anyone waiting to be verified on MP...
I'm in Canada, but I'm guessing this may apply to anyone.
After weeks of frustration, several pointless, useless calls to clueless reps and their so-called 'managers', 'team leaders' or whatever they're calling them these days. I just decided on a total whim to change my name and photo that were for some reason taking forever to be verified. During this time my account was suspended from selling
All I did was match the case of the letters on my document to the info typed on the name, address, and SIN number page. AND I changed my middle name to just an initial just like the document. Make it Letter for letter, space for space, upper or lower case identical. Then I re-uploaded another picture of the front and back, WITHOUT any even slight barrel or pincushion distortion, and made it look about as magazine perfect as possible. Even though my previous pictures were fine and clear
Not only did this work, but it was instantaneous. Red banner disappeared, full selling privileges back. No amount of calls to CS and no amount of so called "we'll put a ticket in for a manual review" and "well get back to you in 48 hrs" and "we dont know whats wrong" did a damn thing
I guess you just have to make it perfectly easy for whatever bots their using to match everything up digitally to bypass any human eyes that can slow the process down. For 20 years The incompetence of Ebay never ceases to amaze me. What kind of idiotic system is this, that you can screw an account up for months over a damn initial?
