eBay - PayPal Glitch Report
PayPal confirmed there is a bug affecting eBay transactions in the "Confirmed Address" status. A reader had written to report that they noticed on their Paypal account, all items were showing up as being sent from Confirmed Addresses, however, the email sent from Paypal shows Unconfirmed. "We normally do not look at the emails only what is shown on the website. We just happened to catch this today."
PayPal spokesperson Jamie Patricio said the fix for the bug is scheduled to take place in the next couple of weeks. "There is no other way for the sellers to determine whether or not the buyers have a confirmed or unconfirmed address. However, the status of "confirmed" or "unconfirmed" regarding a buyer's address is a non-issue since it is no longer used as a determining factor for Seller Protection. They do need to be sure they are following the remaining steps for Seller Protection, but need not be concerned with the unconfirmed address."
In another report, a reader said that some of their listings had disappeared and pointed to a thread on the clothing discussion board.
"While editing my listings to make them compliant with the required September changes on eBay and cross checking them with my inventory I was taken aback at how many of my listings had simply vanished."
eBay spokesperson John Pluhowski said, "We've conducted a complete review with three CS teams (TSAM, Listing Tools and Selling Support) and met with Supervisors and frontline staff on your inquiry. We have not received any feedback to date from the seller community to suggest that there's an issue. Nevertheless, in an effort to be responsive, please encourage any seller encountering this issue to contract customer service directly."
So if you notice any problems with disappearing listings, send a report with full details to eBay customer service.
