Re: Ebay to allow Bitcoin...

Bitcoin is here to stay. The only thing I could see derailing it is if governments try to ban it. Governments tend not to like things they cannot control.

I'm not convinced BitCoin is here to stay... even though I operate a GPU farm mining alt-coins :D

As my friends and I view it, this is the gold rush of our generation. People are flocking in droves to the coin and mining equipment in hopes of pulling a fast ROI, and getting rich. Problem is, mining is not so easy anymore. BTC itself requires almost a $10,000 buy-in on equipment to think about turning a good profit (at that point, you should just buy coins and trade them back and forth!) I had 2 ASICS for 3 months, and sold them in January just a week before they 1/2'd in value.

I am concerned though, more and more governments are "banning" bitcoins, including China, Russia, and India. If the US outlawed BTC then it's value would plummet. We saw the height of its worth, ~$1200 right when the Senate decided to talk about it and China was meeting to talk on its future.

Ultimately, more and more retailers need to accept it. It needs to become a part of mainstream society and useable. The average person still doesn't even know WTF a bitcoin is, let alone how it works or how to spend it!

@Salvo, mind if I ask how much you are able to farm in a day? If too private, no worries.

Bitcoin is kind of beyond the scope of some of the older eB users....not sure if they should go through with this fluctuating currency

I'm a new ebay user but I wouldn't accept it. Way too much speculation play for me.
I dont play with speculation investments anymore. I got into the boring long term stuff.

If we could use something like Bitpay to accept bitcoins and convert them back right away. I would be all down for it.

Instant conversion service should be offered for prompt cashout for those who need it - very true point
