Ebay to allow Bitcoin...

This Is No Bueno in my book.
I see a LOT of scammers coming out of the woodwork for this...
It will be in the CLASSIFIEDS sections...but still I feel it will be a matter of time before ebay bends the rules again about digital sales to keep their 'buyers' happy.

It will be one of the biggest mistakes they have ever made.

All signs point to Fail - instead of Bitcoin acceptance, I would say open up to more payment processors...but no, PP is king...ugh

Re: Ebay to allow Bitcoin...

Its very concerning.
They can basically be anon with fraud spreading left and right.

I doubt they will...BUT...If ebay or paypal make this mandatory...Im sorry...this game will no longer be for me.

Re: Ebay to allow Bitcoin...

As long as PP/EB can claim no liability like they do with everything else, they don't give a sh!t. All they want to do is attract more buyers. Nothing else matters.

Tell me about it - I know nothing about BitCoin therefore don't understand why scammers would be so interested.... can someone explain?

If it's not bitcoin, it will be another digital currency.. that's too innovative an idea to just disappear and not come back. Hopefully not until I make a ton of money though.. it really does sound like its going to be a nightmarish learning curve in the short term. Neal Stephenson was right! ;)

any suggestions on making a 'ton of money' I'm all ears...I mean you can be a reseller on ebay, and the margin is good, the risk not so good....

I think all other exchangers have got to be not priced so much in your favour, given the amount of pros out there trying to make a profit.

The one problem I see with bitcoin is there's only a set amount that can ever be produced so when they hit that number the dollar amount it's worth will either crash to next to nothing or cost even more, just depends on the market.

It is hard to say. Bitcoin is a global phenomenon. The millions of dollars some people have spent on super computers is to mine for Bitcoin is unreal.

Bitcoin transactions on the public leger are more than Western Union sends daily and beginning to rival that of PayPal. This whole thing really is wild. Huge volatility though.

I am very interested to see not just how Bitcoin plays out but this entire Cryto Currency. It very will could be a fad. But I remember back in the early 90s when I was a kid people saying the internet was limited in what it was going to do. It is going to peak, and there will never enough commerce on there and everything else. Nobody will ever put their CC number on there etc. Here we are today with thousands of people who make a living selling goods on the web.

Bitcoin is a fad. There's absolutely nothing backing it up other than interest, and because of that, it's extremely volatile making it an terrible monetary instrument.

So true BiN4RY - and we all know what happens when eB gets involved with something....ppl get angry, fra*d happens, sellers get booted...currency will fluctuate and get polluted

There is nothing backing FIAT currency as well. Just logged onto Tigerdirect today and saw they are now accepting Bitcoin as well as the Sacramento Kings and Overstock.com got some publicity last week for deciding to accept Bitcoin as well.

This is all about the networking effect. The more people you have using the network the more likely it is to say. I am very interested to see how this plays about. Bitcoin may at some point lose its luster. But Crypto currencies very well could be here to stay.

Great article about Bitcoin in Bloomberg Businessweek about two weeks ago.

I use localbitcoins for my bitcoin endeavours, it's very safe to trade my cash in person for instant wallet transfer, and keep my savings in my bitcoin wallet. I know that a fire won't burn my old methods of storing cash.

Bitcoin Charts / Charts

I love bitcoin it makes it very convenient to move money from one country to another in seconds with all the sites out there!

I think your all crazy to not jump on the band wagon

Very good point about moving money from one country to another. Bitcoin is evolving. It is getting easier to move coins and convert them back to regular currency relatively easily.

I do worry about the crazy fluctuations in Bitcoin. Could be $100 not to far from now. It could be $100,000 a Bitcoin. Who knows.

Anyone who thinks this is a U.S. thing or a European thing also. Gotta put it in perspective. China has been the biggest adopter of Bitcoin thus far. So sky is the limit for this. Litecoin been getting some pub recently too. Who knows how this thing is going to play out. So glad to see Shysters like Bernakie/Yellen and Mark Carney worried about this threatening their monopoly money they want to print at will. Cyrpto Currencies are blowing up. Which will win who knows? But you gotta love it. All the Shysters at the central banks sweating it out. Love it love it love it.

You're on the right track if you invested in bitcoins.

Bitcoins are the next big thing. Major retailers are starting to accept them, local stores in my area are taking them as payment. There are bitcoins atm poping up left and right.

Bitcoins are legit and real. With the NSA crap going on, I think that is only going to help bitcoins because there are no banks involved in bitcoins. Accounts get get locked, etc.

I heard about bitcoins 2 years ago. I only wish I invested. They are now valued at over 1000. I bet the snowded thing helped alot!

Re: Ebay to allow Bitcoin...

the best way to even mine for bitcoins is by getting a ASIC together. its like a motherboard type circuit board that is specialy designed to work out the BitCoin programng thing. it will draw much less power than a normal graphics card would and at much faster speeds than any normal GPU ever would.

but as people mine more and more coins it will be harder to mine more coins. and there is a limit on how many coins will be mined unless the designer make more coins and dumps them out in the wild but that will devalue the coins mined.
