Why paypal is bad for consumers and banks
Why paypal is bad for consumers and banks
So I had some stuff where sellers only took paypal. Well I tried one card and paypal didn't like it. So paypal, which used to ask first but no longer does, charged an "expanded use" to the card, which I hadn't even authorized. So I removed all cards from the account and closed it (it was only for buying). Well paypal left the "expanded use" charge on my card and it never ever went away.
I tried and tried contacting paypal but would just they spit back unrelated form letters showing they never read a word of what I wrote.
So I had to call my bank and disputed the charge. But the bank said they just gave me a courtesy credit where they didn't dispute the charge. I had hoped paypal would get a chargeback, but nope.
I told the bank rep, "So that means paypal steals it from you instead of me." But she shrugged it off.
