 Really, new "ebay" account suspended
Wow, my brand new "ebay" account has been suspended. I called in and it was a nightmare getting past the voice machine to a real human. I was basically told that protocol could not allow them to explicitly tell me why they suspended my account, and that I should find a different venue for selling my product.
I listed a corsair ram module I didn't need that was lying around. I set it up for auction and 13.44 was automatically selected as the starting price. What was super fishy was that searching on another computer for my listing, it would not come up even after 1 and 12 hours. Eventually 1 day after listing I got en email like the one below. I really need to use ebay to purchase and sell as well, there's no other site like it. It has a wide selection of items and people.
This is the complete message:
After reviewing your eBay account, recent activity has raised serious security concerns. As a result, we've taken the following action on your account:
- Your eBay account has been suspended.
- Item listings have been removed. A list of removed items is available further down in this email.
You won't be able to use eBay in any way. This includes using another existing account or registering a new account. Any outstanding selling fees are due immediately, and any amounts that you haven't previously disputed will be charged to the billing method currently on file.
We've taken this precaution to protect our members while we make sure that the activity doesn't cause harm -- however unintentionally -- to the eBay community.
