Welcome to the forum.
This thread is rather old like made in 2008. I made a new thread for you

No, you can not close the account. ebay controls the account at this point. What do you have in mind?

hello everyone, how many violation you can have before they will suspended your account. Do you think they have another online website that we can do business for auction style and buy it now?

immystar,

You can have x3 violations. There is no need to close the account. The forum will explain how you can do this. It is not difficult to do.

You have to be careful with this. It seems as of lately when you get a alert/strike you are really getting 2 hits on the same item, at least thats what has happened to me the last 2 times.

On one single item I usually get this in my dashboard...

MC019 eBay Listing Removed: Reported by Rights Owner - Unauthorized Item/Listing

MC019 eBay Listing Removed

These both count as 2 alerts even though it was on one item, like getting punished twice for one VeRO hit.

Theygotmetoo is correct, you can double hits, even up to 3 for one article...pre 11/07 accounts seem to be able to take more, I have 4 now and still up, but I'm letting it cool off until they all expire before using it again.

In other words: violations have an expiration date, usually 3 months after receipt. If you wait 3 months those violations will disapear and your account will be like a virgin again...but be careful because eBay likes to come back for seconds and thirds...they're dirty like that.

I had six violations on my ebay account before getting suspended at least a year. I had four copyright violations when they gave me 7 day suspension. ebay reinstated my account only to have me violate twice more within minutes of reinstation. Numbers 5 and 6 at the same time. I was just starting out with about 40 positives.

I got 3 violation before my account got suspended.
Anybody know whether my other ebay accounts will be affected?

Say, if I have 3 ebay accounts linked to the same PayPal, will I be banned by eBay if each of the 3 accounts get 2 violation?

If you had all 3 accounts linked to the same PayPal, when one Ebay account gets suspended, others follow and its only matter of time, regardless how many violations you manage to pile up before inevitable suspention.

I think it all depends on what reason they give you for the suspension and how old the acct's are.
Some are one and done
others are gone on the first violation without any warning

Cross Linked pre 11/07 accounts seem to be stronger than others. Still have some eBay seller accounts between 3 to 5 years old linked to the same old Paypal(5 years history) which linked to some suspended eBay IDs.
