Please Help! Account Suspended

My account suspended because eBay says “we’ve found a possible discrepancy in the documents as well as the shared information”.

I upgraded my ebay private account to a business account in February after opening a company in Portugal. Since I wanted to expand my sales on eBay.
My company is legal and registered with the all the fiscal numbers and it’s registered for vat in OSS - Union Scheme, to comply with the European Union rules for VAT, for online business.

When I upgraded to a business account, I add all the information that was requested by customer support and I ask several times if I was complying with all legal obligations and customer support said that everything was good and I’ve selling for this last 6 months.

But now Customer support says they found discrepancy with the information visible on the documents provided as compared to the eBay account information. And when I ask what it’s the problem they said: “sharing such specifics may lead to circumvention of our guideline”.

Ive been a member of ebay for the last 16 years, I’ve been selling for a long time. I am very shocked with all this situation and did not understand what happened to my account to be restricted.

Did someone have the same problem when upgrade the account to business?
How I can talk with a person in the platform by phone? I call the eBay help number and there is a robot answering all the questions, and you are not able to have a conversation with a person from customer support.

I haven't dealt with your situation in particular but I hope you find a solution.

When you connect to a bot type in "speak to agent" hopefully that will give you the option to get a call back or txt with an agent from trust and safety team.

Thank you for your help.

I tried talking to Ebay via Facebook and Twitter but they kept forwarding me to the Ebay Customer Service on the website, saying that my suspension is related to my payment/personal information and cannot be discussed via social media.

Not long ago, Ebay had a "live chat" available on the website, which was very useful. I can't seem to find it anymore. Does anyone know the direct link to the "live chat"?

which country is the account registered in?

ebay do not allow to use non resident companies , if the company is incoprorated in portugal you need to register an account in portugal and at least one director must be resident

same thing for USA , with US account the company must be a US company with at least one director / president being a US resident

I am guessing the international company is the issue. Really harsh and unfair considering it's all legit and you simply want to put it right.

He is not doing it right,his company is based in Portugal but selling on Ebay as a US company.

In the last 16 years,you have a personal account,is it an US account or UK account?

it is legal to use foreign companies , you can open a foreign company and then create an establishment in another country but this does not work on ebay

Both PAYPAL and Ebay have to comply with the Patriot Act.

The Patriot act has nothing to do with selling in a foreign country,it has to do with fighting terrorism.
We dont really know enough what OP is doing,Ebay seems to find some problem with his payment method,we dont know what payment method he is using- I assume he is using MP and how does he receive his sales proceeds?

patriot act is meaningless here , people are allowed to use foreign companies , it is just ebay policy that they do not want non residents , this applies to all countries

ebay country = residence country = incorporation country = bank country

this is the way it works with minor deviations like permission to use a different EU bank country if everything else is in the EU

because the CS monkeys send the same text to everyone if the suspension email does not specifically tell the reason , in fact they do not know the reason and don't care
