So you register and put a CC on file and then that still pops up after you try to setup an auction?

when i register they don't ask me for the credit card i just veryfy my email like always.. and then when i go to post auction this note pops up.

How can you sell without a CC# on file?

some times they do ask for credit cart when you register and some times they dont.. eventualy i do put card on file so i can sell but this have nothing to do with my current situation.. i do not iven get to this final step in the selling proses..

That's what I do; I register an account... and start listing right away. It asks for my seller information after my auction is ready to go, and that's it. Very weird. I used Gmail I think. I'll try another account in a bit.

Well, I just created a new account a few minutes ago and I got the same warning you got leonid5000.

It doesn't seem to affect accounts created before yesterday.

Have you tried faxing receipts leonid5000?

register a business (to forward your mail) in a canadian city
register a phone number in same canadian city

Its time for google or someone to bring some competition to ebay.

You guys better open an account at a different site or get your own ecommerce site and pay for Ad words or something like I do.

Or only accept money orders until 10 feedback and then offer Bidpay. Or pray someone sues ebay to allow more types of payment options.

You can make a Canadian account with a US virtual card, no problem. I've done it before..

See the thing is, Ebay doesnt care if they get sued, because the money they will make from breaking the law will out do the cost of lawsuit. So say ebay makes 100 million from breaking the law in past 6 months and gets sued for 40 million, they will pay that with no problem becuase they will will make 60 million profit..

What happens if you offer both Paypal and Creditcards on a new account? Will the message still appear?

This is what does not make sense to me. I would think a merchant account number is as confidential as a CC#. Why would eBay have you enter you CC number digitally so a human could not get this information easily but have people fax the merchant information. This does not sound right. Wouldn't you think they would have people fill out a secure online for for this sensitive information. I think eBay is all wet on this one and will get screwed for this. Are you all actually going to trust your merchant account information to a perfect stranger. I see scams happening from this. I do not doubt this is happening but can't believe this faxing will continue....I just hope most new ebayers tell ebay to screw off. This will hurt eBay in the end.

they are not asking to send them merchant account number in the note.. They just say send us
recent merchant processing statement. On most of this statements it dont say the number. Not on the ones i have seen. And then they say While we confirm your merchant credit card account.. Iven if you give them real merchant number there is no way legally they can confirm it.

If you don't have a merchant account, you wouldn't even have a statement to begin with, but you can probably find one to copy on the internet.

What if we use google checkout as are merchant im sure ebay will be thrilled that we use there number 1 emeny and surely they will let use sale after they see we use google :rolleyes:

Hey- OK, something must of changed this morning- think they are Gearing up fo the Volume.
(I for one have over 15 accts loaded with auctiva pics + descripts- just need to go to the library + hit send)-
They limited 2 of my ppal accts today.

Well there's the surprise of the century.

It's like Modee said here before.. Paypal and eBay are linking now no matter what. They truly are one and the same company now. What I do anyway is just create a brand new (⊗⊗⊗⊗) PP account to go with a single eBay account.

The paypal account you entered..... was it just some ⊗⊗⊗⊗ email under which no paypal account is registered? or was it a real paypal account that exists?

If you open a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ paypal (actually register with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name and address and gift card)... and anybody pays to that account (and they will pay) - your paypal account will get limited right away until you can verify your social security, bank, etc. So what is the point of this? The money will be stuck and you'll never be able to get it, and the customer won't be able to cancel his payment at this point.

Nope leonid, you're wrong.. I accept payments into the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ PP and nothing happens. I'm sure if disputes arose or something like that there's a good chance they would limit the account, but they won't limit it just because you're using ⊗⊗⊗⊗ info. There's no way for them to tell!

Ones you try to take out $ form ⊗⊗⊗⊗ paypal they will ask you to verify . Not because you have ⊗⊗⊗⊗ info..

It would probly be wise not to post any fixs on how to get around this merchant account thing cause im sure ebay has spys all over this site and will only fix what every method we come up with to get around this problem.

8 weeks on 3 ⊗⊗⊗⊗ paypal accounts and have not been limited yet. Gonna see how long they last

got ppal accts in all 5 of my kids names, theyre ages from 3-11, still not taken down.. only run couple hundred at a time through though..

Just leave a $100-$200 in them at all times and you should be fine. I've transferred nearly $10,000 on one account over 3 months that way and never got limited. Not even asked for a copy of ID card, which I couldn't provide because they're all in ⊗⊗⊗⊗ names :D

i don't know what you are people doing but in my case this just don't work. Just when you are happy and got $ on ⊗⊗⊗⊗ account they will limit you. It happened to me many times before.. thats why i just dont do it any moore. maybe because im dealing with allot of $.. to risky...
