It's likely instead it is some crazy person who thinks everyone here is a scammer who is reporting it to ebay.
eBay reads this forum and yet they ignore all the points we make like how faxing in statements from real merchant accounts never work and the only thing that does work is if you send in a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ statement. Quote:

(i dont know--just thinking out loud)-but YES, its frustrating to not be able to be frank...Someway even the Clever ebay snoop cannot get in. |
I am one of the oldest posters here, but I have never paid money to go to the pay forums. If you charge money for a secret forum and someone is really set out to spy, they will pay and get in. You should do it by just simply if the person is a regular.
If someone is just some spy but not from ebay then driver's license won't help. Of course there are driver's license pics online, too, but really aspkin should just log HTTP headers and if he sees stuff coming from ebay's website then he knows. eBay is unlikely to bother with proxies or Tor as their supervisor might get irate. But even you could see what happens then. I still think it might not be ebay but just some people reading this site reporting everything to ebay.

the only one way to fool ebay is to make it look like this forum went totaly illigal like make every one here hackers and make it look like we all identaty thifs with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ SSN and all other staff..have links to hacker communityes and hackers posts, viruses and warez sofware. Then they will give up on this forum.. Camoflauge is important. At the moment this form is vulernuble to ebay snitches. also maybe make a life irc chat at sertan time here

Lol, the ideas you guys come up with. It's touching.
We've tried many different things to keep the forum a secret. The only thing that works and brings in new ideas and information is an open forum. It doesn't matter if eBay reads the forum or not. Anything they can do, we can get around. If there comes a point where we can't around something, then that's when eBay starts killing it self. Think about it. Not letting us use a merchant account, and only accepting Paypal is a killer for eBay. Can you say lawsuit? The more they obstruct us, the more their competition has a selling point. Either way, the forum stays open to everyone. If you want to have a little more privacy to talk about sensitive topics, join the subscriber's only area. And we'll get things rolling.
Merchant accounts aren't the only way. It's probably one of the best ways to go, but if you can't get your account verified by eBay, using a New Paypal account works as well. Just expect limitations.

ccnow is not banned by ebay and problably won't be...it wouldn't make any sense to do that since it intergrates paypal and the actual auction listing. if they shut down ccnow then a user can go elsewhere and get "documents" from another merchant account. what is ebay going to do, ban all merchant accounts??? i highly doubt that...

hi-ok to proove a point-I created a new acct today ( I fully expect to loose it-so doesn't matter)-listed 1 item-let the default go to pyts @my email (accepting ppal). then went over to auctiva-created similar listing-this time changed pyt default to @paypal.com. (which doesn't exist)-both listings went through WITHOUT needing merch acct paperwork faxed in. my pyt instr say wait for invoice..which I will then send link to ccnow. Done this successfully for 7 accts-all selling... PM me for the auction number (ONLY if u r a registered supporter)...so even if someone turns it in... 1 or 2 folks will get helped + get the idea.. not a problem... | |

hi ebayhateluv, great plan, and you are such an incredible resource for us here. :o Now where do you change payment defaults? Under preferences? And by saying you accept paypal are you only accepting ccnow? Or is it possible to use this with an account such as google checkout, or authorize.net? Thanks, this is a great plan for the holidays, and it doesn't seem as if it has to be just over the weekend. You could keep creating throwawaw ebay accounts until about dec. 15th, right?

I'm going to use an old ebay account that had the paypal account previously limited that is linked to it, and I will use an alternate payment method. Hopefully it lasts through Sunday, and then I can kiss it goodbye. In the meantime for next week I will create a brand new ebay and paypal account, get a quick checking account, and by then the account will be ready to go for the next set of days. I plan on only using auctiva to manage these accounts once they are created to list, invoice, etc.

HI- like I've said before- I am NOT the pc saavy one. I know what i want + how i'd luje to get it-- but thats where the real expertise comes in--- i.e. Aspkin + Chris..
AS for the other methods- to be honest i use ccnow exclusively.. i have a google checlout acct- have verfied my checking acct- but for 3 months havent been able to figure how to send an invoice.. i even sent them emails.. so i gave up that idea.. authorize.net- i just had an acct approved for regular merchant acct as well as a wireless terminal to use at a kiosk in a mall- havent used it yet though.. I am looking forward to be able to have an automatic email sent with the checkout link --for paypal, but even then-- i will do as i have been doing.. advertise paypal + accept paypal-just not paypal direct. I tell my customers-- No, sir we do not have a seperate Consumer Paypal account, we have a Retail Merchant account, like walmart. (with that said- they go + pay)....
