| | | unknown_user | 08-14-2010 08:53 PM | i have been on my air card for about a year and a half.
i have connected and disconnected 30 times...none are the same IPs |
| jbluntz | 08-14-2010 08:58 PM | But you said you sold before adding a bank account, that could be your problem, it was for me at one time. |
| unknown_user | 08-14-2010 09:08 PM | on the new account that was just shut down i added the bank account but yet it wasn't verified. That may be an issue...
I suppose i can wait three business days to find out if after verified i can sell. also, why are VPN's not recommended. I have never used one before but wonder why since its in the book. |
| jbluntz | 08-14-2010 09:15 PM | On a new account it's not a good idea to sell even after 3 days, usually you get plenty of activity on it first at least 1 or 2 weeks worth of regular searching or something and then list 1 item with a verified paypal. At least thats what I do. |
| GreenBean | 08-14-2010 09:17 PM | VPN are not recommended as paypal/ebay think the user is up to no good.
In many cases this is so. Users get booted quickly from ebay/paypal with VPNs.
Now given the fact you are in the USA, you have other options. What you need to do is decide how to beat ebay/paypal as you said.
:nono: to VPN |
| unknown_user | 08-14-2010 09:26 PM | would a piece of paper be a low risk item? I've got that listed now just to see...
I have a new EVERYTHING again.... new phone, user account, etc. I added the vcc to paypal.
i wonder how long it will take before its shut down. |
| jbluntz | 08-14-2010 09:59 PM | That would be looked at as feedback manipulation, a used dvd always worked for me with ebays stock photo and description but my new accounts are always a few months old with at least 1-2 weeks of activity before listing. |

I mainly sell used dvds they are no more than 6.00 and maybe 1.50 shipping. I don't see how that can be high risk...at least i hope not. Main reason being i have over 5,000 units. lol
i would like to get to the point where a new account is selling about 10 of them every day with 3 day listings.. |
When did the memo that says we should be KEEPING cookies go out, and why didn't I get one?
I still delete my cookies every time I login, and never had a problem. :noidea:
If eBay does like to see their cookies, wouldn't they also like to see the same IP associated with said cookies? If his IP is changing every time he logs in that's just as suspicious as them not recognizing his PC.
OP, are you using Firefox? Since no one asked.
Try setting up an account at a local library and see what happens. If you have no problems it has to be something with your IP.
The bottom line is, I could sign up using info that I know for a fact is suspended with clean cookies/IP and last longer than you did, so there has to be one huge red flag that's giving you away. My bet is your IP. |

| LSO? Are you seeing log in name still in window? If you are completely purifying your cookies every time I am a bit surprised it has not bitten you yet |

That's what I've been doing since being instructed by the stealth book over a year ago. Of course tactics do change, and I'm not saying my way is the best way today. I'm just saying that I don't recall a topic on this. When did this become a consensus? Deleting cookies is also a must for me because I have to change my IP manually by spoofing my MAC ID. I can change my IP through my router, but I cannot retain them, so I actually have to unplug my modem while working. I know one thing. I have to answer my security checks every time I log into my BOA accounts, so I know EB/PP don't recognize my PC.
What's next. Someone is gonna tell me it's OK to use IE now for stealth accounts? :pound: |
| jbluntz | 08-14-2010 11:27 PM | Your talking about LSO's, mine are deleted every time I long in and off but regular cookies are still kept intack unless I'm creating accounts then I clear regular cookies as well and use the same user. |
| jbluntz | 08-14-2010 11:33 PM | Flash objects... |
OK, I thought we were talking about cookies in FF under options. I keep both of those unselected, and set to clear private data. I actually don't know how to delete flash cookies without creating a new user account. (never tried) Thing is, as I've stated, BOA does not recognize my PC when I login so obviously EB/PP is seeing the same thing, so that may be a determining factor in when they decide to limit you. |
| jbluntz | 08-15-2010 12:18 AM | Flash objects are super cookies, regular cookies save your login info and browsing history which is why it's good to keep that so eb/pp can recognize who you are when using a seperate user. It's possible to get linked by super cookies which can store more data than regular cookies, you have to download the add-on for firefox called "better privacy" the super cookie safegaurd. |
| GreenBean | 08-15-2010 12:38 AM | Going a tad off topic given the questions & answers......you want a debate on cookies, tell me & I'll make a new thread in the correct place:peace: |
| jbluntz | 08-15-2010 12:44 AM | I think we got enough threads on that topic, how about a big plate of chocolate chip cookies instead? and this thread is??????????? |
| GreenBean | 08-15-2010 01:04 AM | |
| jbluntz | 08-15-2010 01:10 AM | ^ Yummy, I think I already spilled crumbs all over me.:D |
| slapped | 08-15-2010 01:21 AM | I Do not know whart to tell you, It Seems that you are covering all the Bases.
Are the Names/Address you are using COMPLETLY New or are they close to older ones you used,,,,like 123 Main St as opposed to 123A Main Street,,,or John Smith as Opposed to John Anthony Smith |
| unknown_user | 08-15-2010 01:33 AM | they are completely different names, addresses, phone, etc. I do use FF.
over 2 years i have never had any account to be suspended as quick.. i have kept them for at least 6 months or better. Now its like...ugh...i'm out of business. (and when it supports your family...that keeps you up at night) |
| GreenBean | 08-15-2010 01:36 AM | The IP you are using now, is that one you used for the accounts? |
| unknown_user | 08-15-2010 01:38 AM | No. i'm on another computer for that.
I just got a MC010 Account limited-verify identity..... great.. this one lasted a whole 2 hours. |
| SaiJin | 08-15-2010 01:43 AM | Just to recap my assumption on what / how you set up:
1. New phone, addy, name, email, bank acc, cc.
2. New windows user acc on each eB acc.
3. You kept the LSO on each windows user acc.
4. New IP for each windows user acc, before you log into it.
5. New desc and photo per user acc.
6. no VPN / Proxy
And after all these, you still got suspended? |
| GreenBean | 08-15-2010 01:46 AM | What was the IP for this account. Did you check it? I want to see what you are using......
MC010 may not be the same issue as the MC0169 (not as serious) |

that is why it is such a big mystery to me.. |
| FandangoKango | 08-15-2010 01:48 AM | For me I have a few different air cards from verizon to att and home dsl. Try getting new dsl or cable home internet. Buy some very old account from somebody. Try that. Instead of using the same windows your using get an older windows like xp or vista if your only using windows 7 or if your using xp or windows get windows 7. Im just giving ideas. :) |

MC010 may not be the same issue as the MC0169 (not as serious) | I was using my air card. I logged the IP. Doesn't show up on the 30+ IPs i have logged since i started doing this today.
Now, i heard someone say spoofing your MAC to get a new IP. I have cable internet on my other machine (this one) and if i were to find a program (i'm not sure which one to use) to spoof my mac. Will it give me a new IP each time? |
| SaiJin | 08-15-2010 01:50 AM | GB, do you think it's possible his location or IP pond is in eB's high priority black list?
Op, pls give GB those IPs she wants to see. I'm curious myself |

I've tried one of my old accounts for 2 years sitting...never logged back in to it since i created it from dial up. suddenly it was suspended. |
| jbluntz | 08-15-2010 01:53 AM | Like I said before I had the same, similar problem once, where every new account I list I get hit with mc010 5 minutes later until I started clearing LSO's, using verified paypal and getting more activity on the account before listing and problem solved, still using the same computer. |
| unknown_user | 08-15-2010 01:58 AM | by clearing LSO's you mean the adobe flash cookies correct?
btw, GB PM sent with list of IPS logged. |
| jbluntz | 08-15-2010 02:02 AM | Correct, just google better privacy for firefox. |
| SaiJin | 08-15-2010 02:02 AM | You can use Firefox's Objection to clear all Flash / LSOs or Better Privacy. |
| unknown_user | 08-15-2010 02:06 AM | i have used CCleaner, plus i have a quick link on my ff for clearing my flash cookies, plus i had it set up (even though i would do it manually to be sure) to clear all cookies etc when i closed FF.
However, Since i was told to keep them. I followed the stealth book guide and created my new name, address, phone, cc, email. opened pp and eb account with new information. linked them up, added my cc etc.
still the same result.
please note i do create a new user per acct on my computer as well. and i have been using my verizon air card for my random IP's. |
| SaiJin | 08-15-2010 02:08 AM | Try NOT using your verizon air card.
Have you tried dial up?
Or maybe even changing your NIC?
I'd try the above one by one. |
| jbluntz | 08-15-2010 02:09 AM | No you keep your regular cookies, you just delete the flash cookies. |
| unknown_user | 08-15-2010 02:32 AM | im creating a new account now. fresh start.
i just created a new user on my computer. i made sure it was clear of all cookies and LSO's...
I have all the basics covered. I'm creating this new account which address is 50 miles from me. I have the name, credit card, phone. |
| jbluntz | 08-15-2010 02:39 AM | Ok but you want to keep your regular cookies which is what saves your login info and browsing history, then you want to start establishing some browsing history, once you delete cookies you're just like a brand new user but you can keep deleting LSO's. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 03:53 AM. | |
