i second that, dial up is a pain but it works for what you need also tethering with a cell phone.

OfficialGenius 08-15-2010 03:14 AM

Why does he need to delete flash objects if he's using different windows user accounts like eveybody else...?

Must be something new...

unknown_user 08-15-2010 03:26 AM

I was wondering the same thing but however i'll take what ever i can get to sell again. Income isn't looking so good...

when do you think i should list on my new account? It is up. but it isnt converted to a seller account yet.

GreenBean 08-15-2010 03:30 AM

Can I give you a straightforward answer? Sell nothing. Buy something & get feedback, activity. Play them. The way you've been losing accounts at the very least I'd try that.

Those IPs were sound unless you accidently used the same one on different accounts...:noidea:

jbluntz 08-15-2010 03:31 AM

It's been around for awhile, you don't need flash you can uninstall it all together but if you have it, it has been known to leak between users.

unknown_user 08-15-2010 03:47 AM

okay. i'll try to buy items. i hope this will work / help out on my new acct. I strive for longevity.

SaiJin 08-15-2010 04:19 AM

I know how you feel. I wish you much luck on your new accounts.
So keep us posted how it goes even after a few days go by with no problems =)

Uhm, NO. I'm sorry but this advice is plain wrong. I manage close to 80 eBay accounts and NONE of my Windows accounts have ever "leaked" flash cookies. They can't. They're in separate folders and other user accounts can't access them.

SaiJin 08-15-2010 12:37 PM

Since I'm not into Vista or 7 . I'd guess that it'd be the same for all OS even newer ones, yes?

oompaloompa 08-15-2010 12:39 PM

if you always deleted cookies from the get-go, i cannot see how its an issue, there must be some other reason...

buntz - Vic says in theory they can leak LSO (uninstalling flash on that browser is a good idea)

unknown_user 08-15-2010 01:11 PM

what would be your proven step to turn an account into a seller account?

My method was (after reading and browsing on account about selling) was to start simple and list something generic. then do the phone verification etc.

IS this a good idea or?

and I thought managing about 20 accounts was crazy...geeze! 80!!:juggle:

SaiJin 08-15-2010 01:27 PM

you have 20 accounts so 20 bank accounts? They don't raise any flags for having that many Bank accs?

yup. at least i HAD 20 accounts...now i have just 20 bank accounts. lol

SaiJin 08-15-2010 02:08 PM

@unknown_user = Check PM from me.

And again, let us know how things go in a couple of days. Good luck

IDK 08-15-2010 02:38 PM

There seems to be a dispute about cookies...

Quite frankly I'm confused. :suspicious:

I managed about 40 accounts before ever clearing flash cookies until my new accounts started getting hit 1 by 1 then I started clearing flash cookies and haven't had any problems since then, flash may have been the problem may not but it worked for me.

pod 08-15-2010 03:46 PM

It may not just be flash cookies themselves. It could also be something with firefox. Used to be an awesome browser. But now a bloated memory hog like the rest. Still the best, sure. But not what it used to be IMHO

I could see information leaking within Firefox. What and how is beyond me. But firefox itself is not bulletproof I suspect. Maybe, just guessing here....

But what can you do. A different browser for each account would be cool. But that's not an option.

topseller 08-15-2010 06:50 PM

There are a couple possiblites.

It could be the type of card you are using to registered the account.
The first 4 digit tell them the issuing bank. Now others might use the card fine, but it is because they are only raising one flag.
You are raising multiple flags that is causing the linking, probably a previous IP address on you ISP. You need to change everything. Even spoof the MAC even though they supposed can't or don't track.

My guess would be though it is something in your listings that is triggering the link.

Next account pick a low-risk product like a beach towel or something. Find one listed by a powerseller and copy their ad word for word. Then price yours $10 higher.
Instead of adding your own picture, link to one on the web.

If the you don't get suspended right away, you know if they are tracking your pictures, ad title or ad description.

P.S. I also PM'ed you in case this doesn't post correctly.

wjs010 08-15-2010 07:45 PM

creating separate user accounts is easier, safer, and more organized =)

unknown_user 08-15-2010 09:30 PM

i have some accounts that are up and running.. however NOT selling. they are fine until i try to sell...ANYTHING...weather it be a beach town or a piece of paper... i even listed a 3.00 movie. SUSPENDED instantly. I'm having the phone company to come in tomorrow to my place and install a land line. I'm attempting the dial up option as a last resort... any suggestions on if this is a good idea?
new addresses, name, phone, cc (simon), ip through dial up. with new user accounts. only deleting flash cookies.

jbluntz 08-15-2010 09:33 PM

Phone tethering with blackberry is what I've always done and use the same phone to take pics.

This is really disturbing. Hmm... do you have a new PC that you haven't used yet?
If you don't, perhaps you can use a friend's PC that doesn't have eB / PP to test things out?

i used a new laptop out of the box... that's how much i wanted to put in on getting back online.
I went out and bought 10 cc from the mall, 10 prepaid phones, bought a new laptop to try it out...now i have the phone guy coming tomorrow to install a lan line due to me only using my cell phones.

unknown_user 08-15-2010 10:30 PM

im gong to try the tethering and see how that goes. ;) i just bought the program so...we shall see. :D

unknown_user 08-15-2010 10:31 PM

This DOES give me a NEW IP EVERYTIME? (tethering) when i reboot the phone that is..

pod 08-15-2010 10:35 PM

It will depend on your cell provider maybe too

If you are using ALL new equipment and ALL new photos, cards, etc. Its IP as I expected

But the tethering gives you one ip to try, so its a start to confirm IP is in fact the issue

jbluntz 08-15-2010 10:38 PM

Verizon gives you a different ip each time, I don't know how big the pool is but I've used the same blackberry on about 100 accounts.

unknown_user 08-15-2010 10:58 PM

im using a verizon android

good idea for multiple accts? and is it fast?

jbluntz 08-15-2010 11:05 PM

Never had an android, try it and see, hook it up.

unknown_user 08-15-2010 11:09 PM

btw, to help out on the forum, i'm a very creative guy...soo...yeah. If you need some help i'll do my best. ;)

SaiJin 08-15-2010 11:51 PM

Thanks for the offer, I'm sure some of us appreciates it.

But first, lets take care of you and make sure we figure out what got you in your position.

agreed. i just want to be an asset to the forum. ;)

Lets figure out this issue and go from there.

OfficialGenius 08-16-2010 07:44 AM

There's definitely a problem on your side. I keep track of new/ 0 feedback sellers and all are still up and running after selling $400-$1500 items.

Either way, keep us updated. :)

Dont forget you are always on the other side with what happens to your accounts. Just saying.....

if this going to the dark side of cookies, ......:boink:

What's your selling format like? Was sorting through this thread but I did not see your buy/sell pattern - you just listing the random stuff with 0 feedback?

Are you changing your wording? I also have hunch that eBay is filtering for word patterns.

random items yes. wording is different etc.
hehe my piece of paper has been up for a few days. a few of my accounts that i have created are up and running with 0 feedback. however if i try to sell on them is when it gets shut down. Even how less risky of an item is... for example my mr.deeds movie i wanted to sell. i used stock photo and description even... it was shut down in 5 min.

i want to say it is an IP issue or some sort. everything else was followed down to the T. I'm getting dial up and tethering my droid today and see how it will work when i create a new seller acct plus get some feedback. When i get about 7 feedback or 13 (odd numbers) then i'll try to sell something.

rsot 08-16-2010 11:54 AM

Dial up should work for you. That's what I am using now with separate window accounts.

might want to go to a starbucks or a public place and use their wifi and list an item and see if that works, if you get suspended right away, you know it's not an issue with the ip, if you do don't get suspended, your verizon card is the problem
