Default Followed the guide to a Tee and still suspended ??

Hi all,

First of all, Thank you to everyone here for making this
such a helpful and informative place for suspended ebayers.

Ok I found this website last week after I had got suspended from
eBay. I was a powerseller with over 13000 feedback 99.9 positive
since 2004. This is how I make a living or did.

I covered all my tracks from studying this website everyday and
night for at least 6 hours since finding it last week.

Can anyone point anything I did not correct or something I had
missed out since making the new unreal account ?
Only took ebay a few hours to take down the unreal account.

Changed ip addresses
Delete Cookies via clear data on Firefox and use CC cleaner
each time I open or shut firefox.
Totally different name, address, phone number, credit card,
email address.

Unreal Phone number matched the city address and postcode.

Made sure when ip was changed it was not same as the
powerseller suspended account and also
once suspended I dont use this computer to log on to
old suspended powerseller ebay account or open any emails.

Passed the phone verification to start selling no problems, used
jet******

Did not use Paypal with listings as didnt want linked so clicked
merchant account for payments instead.

Can anyone see how ebay or why ebay suspended the new unreal
account in just a few hours ?

Some more infos :

Listed 5 items on second day only. Used 5 day selling auctions not
3 days as 3 day is an instant suspension for new accounts half of the
time.

For picture hosting I used Auctiva with same unreal details as the unreal ebay account, no way linked to old suspended powerseller account.

This is the email received for suspension:

eBay took this action after determining that your account was acting inconsistently with the letter or spirit of our policies.

SHould I have waited a few more days or weeks before starting to sell ?

Also I had 0 feedback, should i have waited till say at least 10 feedback
before selling first item ?

Its no problem, let me know and I will get it right.

Thank you for your help.

P.S Im in the Uk

HI- Real sorry, sounds like they lost a good seller..
I too lost everything in July, until I found Aspkins forum.
I can tell you what "i" did..
a,) I went through like 25-30 accts, cant remember now on the top of my head, but i used all my friends names, inlaws, parents, literally ran out of names to use.
b.) I am not real good on tech issues with pc..SO--
after kept loosing accts
c.) I followed aspkins guide
d.) I became a registered member so i could get the real inside tips here
e.) I got a new hard drive-- i felt it must be something on my pc--$250 was cheaper than a new pc
f.) I bought a $49 linksys router from walmart, model wrt54g
g.) I called verizon dsl- told them i had a power surge, they sold me a new dsl modem.
h.) i went to the local library an started creating backup accts--all the while starting to buy small items, building feedbadck on one i had just made.
i.) i keep very good records
j.) i have to run numerous accts to be able to sell my goods
-----believe me, this takes more time than i ever imagined.. (spending approx. 11 hrs /day x 7 days )-- doing what used to take me 3-4 hrs /day....
k.) my sales are back about the same, actually alittle more3 this seaason than last, as so many accts running
--- I look at it like i have 11 sales peoplp out there selling for me.
*** Takes a week or 2 to get over the initial depression of loosing everything,, especially 600-1200 listings, between 4 ps accts, all store items, all those countless hours + hours of uploading pics, writing descriptions, etc.
**BUT, i did it, now I'm more alert than ever- Maybe i was getting lazy being able to wake up to 30-40 orders/day- go to paypal, print labels,
answer a few emails, and get on the phone with my girlfriends the rest of the day??
-----ANYHOW-- stay POSITIVE--- keep encouraged, dont let this mess get you so down you take it out on your fmaily by being crabby )
-- work things 1 step at a time.. ALL the answers are HERE... in this forum!!
Best of Luck
By the way- to get my "mind set" right--- to STOP loosing accts-- think of things like this:
You are now on the Witness Protection Program... When i did it--it clicked.. now ebay doesnt shut me down anymore.. I am extra cautious, alert and stay abreast of whats going on by coming to this forum 2-3x/day, in between ebay emails, shipping etc.
-- this forum is kinda like Therapy....
Keep your chin up )

Hello ebayhateluv,

Thank you for the quick and very helpful reply.

I can relate with you.

I remember your posts and your ebay story from studying this forum.

Both were powersellers and ebay was our main source
of income.

Both had several hundred listings which ebay deleted all
our hard work when falsely suspended.

Both made 30-40 orders a day doing only a few hours work.
It seemed easy. a little too easy perhaps.

Both tried using friends, families accounts or using their names.

Your advice is good and appreciate it.

Like you I will become a registered paying member
so i can get the real inside tips.

I have a few questions.

Q.1

Is buying a new modem 100% required ?
I have another exact braodband cable modem which I can simply swap over,
do you recommend this course of action?

Q.2

Is formatting the harddrive or replacing with a brand new harddrive
100% required?

Q.3

Did I make a mistake in selling 5 items with 0 feedback on the second day of opening the account ?

Would you recommend building feedback with buying items only say til
10 or so feedback for a few weeks then start selling ?

The 5 items I listed on the second day were

2 new memory cards, 1 used book, 2 new dvds.

Thank you again for your help.

The key to a successful eBay voyage is a good old dialup modem and about 10-20 different dialup ISP's (depending on how many eBay accounts you want/need).

HI- Better ask Aspkin or MOdee about the Hard Drive/ Modem,, NO< its not required , but when you canot decipher what a Mac address or Amc download is.. (and having lots of kids)--
yes, the $250 was pretty cheap for me, and solved "MY" problem instantly.
But, if you have the tech knowledge, and the time,, there are cheaper remedies, but I just cant master it yet.
(I needed a short cut- so i could get back to selling!!)--
The items,
--- be careful with Dominating a category-- (like 5 items is really gonna dominat a category with 20,000 listings anyhow??
--but be careful with the items, looks like pc items, youre selling- I sell stationary items,
--I get banned and the abusing ebay letter sometimes, even with stationery items...
--watch for revising listings too many times,,
AND_ for "me"---when i do revise-- I let them catch another fee-- in other words- when i used to revise- i just did it..
Got too many abusing, or not in the spirit of ebay...
** Lately- I've been trynig something--when i revise-- I add something- bold/featured/extra something so the "bot" sees more fees- so far it works,, "for me"-- dont know if it overrides the system, or just coincidence??
---I would start by using more than 1 acct if you can handle it-- test it-- open 1- list from a library--
DO the SAME--from your home pc--diff acct- keep them seperate-- then graduaolly add 1- 2 items, per day-- see what happens,
when/if 1 goes down--if its the one at your house-- MOST LIKLEY still some ebay bugs on your pc...

Good advice here. My advice would be to build up some feedback before you list so many items in one day. I would start out at 1 item/account for awhile. Maybe I'm extra paranoid but I find that one item/account seems to slide through easier at least until you get some feedback going.

Maybe sell some things around the house until you get up to 5 feedback?

The 5 items I listed on the second day were

2 new memory cards, 1 used book, 2 new dvds.
After going over your posts I thought of 2 things that could have caused the quick suspension.

1. Remember to take is sloooowww. I was in a rush to get back on after reading this forum constantly till my eyes hurt for a few days and I followed it as you did. I got canned right away and I think it was cause I listed items right away. I don't think building feedback is as important as letting the account sit. Having a few feedbacks definitely doesn't hurt. After that initial acct was canned I took it slow. Signed up an acct for PP and EB and waited about 7 days, turned into a sellers account and waited another 5-7 days, then stared listing. 2 the first week (used books, dvd's, etc.), 3-5 items a week for the first few weeks, 7 day listings. Its worked so far.

2. The other thing is accepting Paypal. They have it set up so you HAVE to accept PP or its considered abusing ebay. That might be the reason for suspension. I would suggest on your next try sign up for a PP account then try getting the customer to pay with your merchant account. In my experience 8-10 customers will pay however you want them to if you communicate and make them feel comfortable. And if there are a few who do end up paying on that PP account you can either add a bank account and withdraw it, pay ebay fees (good if you used a gift card), or chance transferring it to a different PP account.

Other than that is sounds like you did everything right. So try these 2 things out and you might be successful.

yeah thats the error most eager to get back people do, they start listing too fast on their first day. you are a new ebayer, so try your hardest to act like one. when you first started you didnt list 5 items in one day did you?

also for your ip problems, just get dialup.

A friend of mine kept getting linked to an old account no matter what she did .. until .. she went with dial-up.

Dial-up might be your answer.

Good luck!

Hi--Can anyone recommend a good dial-up to use? There are so many to choose from. I've heard ebay is weary of people who use AOL because they are in kahoots with ebay somehow.

Appreciate any recommendations on this--some are sooooo slow. If you have to start out with dial-up--it helps to get some ideas of good ones you guys are successful with.

Thanks
