Default My call to ebay today

I called to request that the limits be increased on my stealth account after failing online. Surprisingly, I passed. However, the rep put me on hold and my phone was disconnected. Then I get a message from ebay that says I've been suspended.

The rep said she'd raise my limits because everything was okay. Then I got that notice. Now, they're asking for a cover letter with my name, user id and valid phone number along with proof that I purchased the items I was selling. I guess they want receipts and that's the tough part. I dont have receipts What should I do?

What items are you selling? If it's anything that you can buy locally then I suggest you go out and buy it, get the receipt, show Paypal, return whatever it is that you bought

Maybe when scanning the receipt you do some editing with the date so it doesn't seem like you just went out and bought it for that purpose.

I didn't want to give up because If I supply the info my limits are raised. It's not like they're asking for drivers license, bills and ssn.

But I sold windows 7 and a mulberry bag which is extremely expensive...I could get a receipt for the Windows 7 but the bag is unlikely.

They did this to me, I called in and told them I bought items from garage sales for resale so I had no receipts or "suppliers". They passed it.

. A simple word or notepad will do.

This is why you dont call in and ask for your stuff to be upgraded unless you're legit... i thought about asking for a review of limits. but if you think about it, that's what they want... to catch you

You don't call into eBay at all, that is my golden rule.

If you have a problem with an account, let it be resolved itself. Don't contact eBay, whatever you do.

If there's a limit, sell on another account.

If the account is dead, let it be dead and move on.

The worst thing you can do is eBay looking at your account. Why? Because then they will possibly link you to your other existing accounts. We all try to be stealth, but we may miss some things here and there.

Staying under the radar and not contacting eBay is my golden rule to survival on eBay.

I agree with you imjustme. I always avoid calling ebay and paypal, if the accounts are dead, i move to the next one, it's not like we would not the get the money, 180 days is a pain but sweet when you have 3 or 4 account limited and the funds are clear....i am looking forward to Decemeber

Well, contacting eBay is obviously not the best idea as others have stated. Should ONLY do that if you have funds you need in there ASAP.

Yep,. i asked on another relatives account why it was suspended. they mentioned how it was linked to another another account of mine.... then guess what? the seller accoun t i opened 4 months ago (myself again after being suspended made a new account up) and it lasted w/o them catching that i already was suspended. After reviewing my relatives account they suspended mine immediately after i got the response from them regarding my appeal
