| | | | | John Doe | 05-06-2008 05:13 AM | Smh.... Trademark Violation..... You already know the deal. Hello everyone I’m new to this site and I came seeking some information.
Ok, I had my eBay account for a few years now but I never really used it on a regular until last year. To make a long story short, I use to sell Variant Kicks on eBay  but when I use to do it I only did maybe only one auction at a time and nothing more than that and everything was just fine. But then the other day I tried to do 5 items that are the same but in different colors and they all were set to 3 day auctions, everything seemed fine so I decided to add 2-3 more items of a different kind. Once I came home yesterday eBay suspended my account for 7 days because of Trademark Violation.
I bought the eBay stealth guide to learn all that I can about creating new accounts and how to stay under eBay's radar but I still didn't receive my activation code, but that a whole different story.
Anyway, can anybody tell me what I did wrong and how might I avoid this. I now that there is no full proof way to stop eBay and VERO but I’m just looking for anything that might help. I really appreciate the help and I’m looking forward to everyone’s input good or bad.
Thanks in Advance. |
| Superpak | 05-06-2008 06:36 AM | Just to reinstate my point, majority of users on this forum are selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗!! |
| jscan | 05-06-2008 06:52 AM | Theres no foolproof way to avoid VERO, but theres plenty of methods to help yourself become less likely to be affected by the VERO rule.
If you take a look at the forum sections marked "auction listing" & "suspensions & reinstatement talk " there is some good information and tips to help you try and avoid becomming a VERO victim. |
| John Doe | 05-06-2008 11:30 AM | Ok, Thanks |

Reinstate Casta... is a process you may need to go through, whilst "selling Ur ⊗⊗⊗⊗".... I think the word Ur lookin for is "Validate", but as U have selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ on the brain... i guess you can use "⊗⊗⊗⊗" words... :) |
| John Doe | 05-06-2008 07:15 PM | I don't claim authenticity of any of my items, I tell people the truth usually people just message me and ask me if they are authentic and I tell them the straight up NO and if they are not satisfied I give them a full refund Including Shipping. The only reason i do not list that they are Variant under my items description is well... because its eBay and they will probably take it down before I even blink my eyes. |
| jscan | 05-06-2008 09:49 PM | People who buy counterfeits on ebay arnt usually all there anyway.
i mean as if your going to by an OMEGA watch that retails at 10K and sells on ebay for 1K.
or a LV bag that sells for 2K and sells for 300 dollars on ebay, its kind of common sense in one way. |
| John Doe | 05-07-2008 04:51 AM | My Point Exactly,
Its not like I'm selling shoes thats worth $60 for $300, I'm pretty sure people are not that slow. If a shoe is worth $300 at a store and you see someone selling it for $65 Buy Now price brand new on EBAYyou obviously know that they are not authentic and as from the threads that I have read so far on this forum 65% of the people here are selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗ but are just rewording their statements or just claiming that eBay removed their item Vero items of eBay off ebay for no reason. Don't get me wrong I do give some the benefit of the doubt that eBay really did remove their authentic items and claimed them to be ⊗⊗⊗⊗ but I think others were just selling pure ⊗⊗⊗⊗ and got caught. |
| ebayhateluv | 05-07-2008 08:37 AM | BUT.. folks are looking for bargains.... The average COnsumer does not know about the 'China Connection". I myself have learned more about this in the last year here, than all the yrs on ebay...It was just never discussed/talked about.
-- So, If i am looking for say a set of Authentic Wolfgang Puck Copper Pots/Pans, on ebay and someone got them from china for $20--I know they sell for over $600 retail--so why wouldnt i bid up to say $300-- and "IF" i win,, I;'d think i got a Steal.. SO--
the prob comes in when that housewife looses the handle on the pot-then tries to send in for repair/replacement... |

Dear Joe,
Thank you for writing eBay in regard to your account suspension.
We appreciate you sending the required documents for reinstatement. Once
we receive the information you sent in, we will act quickly in reviewing
your request. Please allow 5-10 business days from the time we receive
the documents for us to conduct our review.
Requests for reinstatement are reviewed in the order that they are
received. Because the number of faxes and mailed copies received for
processing is so great, we cannot say for sure if it has arrived until
it has been processed.
If you haven't received an email from us within 10 business days, you
may need to fax your documents again. Sometimes we receive documents
that are illegible, and we have no way of knowing who to contact about
resending their request.
Please fax your documents to:
(888) 259-6962
If you're unable to fax your request, you can mail it to:
eBay Inc.
Attn: Reinstatements
P.O. Box 1497
Draper, UT 84020
Please understand that submitting the requested information does not
guarantee the reinstatement of your account.
***Important***
While your account is suspended you are prohibited from using eBay in
any way, including registering another account. Reregistering or using
another active account will result in the permanent suspension of your
account without the possibility of reinstatement. In addition, eBay
reserves the right to suspend any accounts opened by someone in your
household, or by one of your associates.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Vivian

| mantisinc | 05-21-2008 10:43 AM | Good to hear you got your account back! What did you have to send in? And, were they genuine documents? |
| ebaystolemybaby | 05-21-2008 11:04 AM | what did I have to do? They asked for a faxed id and credit card statement.
My account info is real so I sent my real id and such.
Which scared me because I don't want to give out personal info like that.
But it worked
I don't plan on selling any vero again.
But I know ebay is watching my every step now (big brother)
so I'll post updates
I wonder how long I should wait to sell non vero/safe items?
Most of my items are around the $35-99 range |
| gordirico | 05-22-2008 03:56 PM | Dealings with FACT, Federation Against Copyright Theft. Anyone had any dealings with FACT(vero member ) eg listing removed after a report to Ebay by Fact.
Has anyone ever been chased up by them? |
| jscan | 05-22-2008 08:09 PM | Arnt they for protecting film and music industry copyright violations ? |
| gordirico | 05-23-2008 01:02 PM | Yup! YEAH, THEY COVER FILM AND MUSIC INDUSTRY,CDs DVDs ETC IN THE UK.
JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE HAD BEEN VERO'D BY THEM AND WHETHER OR NOT THEY RECEIVED A CEASE AND DESIST FROM THEM.
