Default Merchant accounts - The alternative to PayPal

Could a Merchant account be used on multiple eBay accounts? Meaning if one eBay account gets suspended, could I attach the same Merchant account to my next eBay account? Also, would using a merchant account rather than paypal raise a flag on your account, because we all know FeeBay wants us paying through paypal. I was thinking of using auction checkout or google checkout.
Thx.

A bit more work than setting up a paypal account, but it sounds good! If things do not work out with my first eBay account, would it be linked to the merchant account?

NO. IT WON'T BE LINKED. I have a merchant account that I have been using for three diffrent ebay accounts.

And it's not hard to set up if you go thru a good merchant account sales rep. It took me 5 minutes top to set up mines------minus filling out the paperwork..

Default Merchant account questions

I've had one for some time. I've normally had to do my own checkout system (of which it's better than most sellers with merchant accounts that give buyers a blank form where they can enter gibberish as the description and then send the seller 1000 payments of one cent at a time, causing the seller to lose $1 or $2 each transaction) Well, I heard somewhere you can hook auctiva up to your auctions and get some sort of automated check out with a merchant account.

Anyone know?

And can that be come with an "immediate payment" required to the merchant account for buyit nows and fixed priced items?
