Default Help! Selling account Suspended after 20 years!

Hi. I am a new member here. Welcome to the club right. I have been an ebay member for 20 years with a rating of 992. I have been selling a lot lately and doing pretty well. Just selling houshold crap and some old electronics because we are moving and I need the money. However over the span of a year I got 4 negative feedbacks which dinged me 4 1's on my item as described detailed seller ratings. All of which mind you were fully refunded. All 4 were do to postal damage as it was out of my control but I degress.

3 weeks ago I got a message stating that my seller privilages were indefinately suspended because of my item as described thingy. Even though all of last month was perfect. I was furious. So I called ebay several several times to appeal and get an answer. Nothing. They were useless and quite honestly did not care. They can't even tell me when I will be re-instated if at all. I have been a member for 20 years, great feedback and have paid them ****loads of money in fees. This is how they treat their customers because of a few disgruntled negatives from people you obviously can't make happy.

So now I have taked all my business to ebid and have started there. Just listed on them so I have no idea if they are good or not. I also opened another ebay acct in my daughters name with a diff address, email and paypal address. I ****ing hate ebay right now. So unfair.

So my question is does anybody have any experience with this? When will my acct be reinstated? Anything I can do to these *******s?

Sorry for the long message but wanted to give you guys the whole picture.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks in advance.

if it is an indefinite suspension then it is forever and you cant do a thing about it that's just how ebay rolls now. BTW what CODE did they give you when they suspended your account. and they don't care about you or me. at the end of the day we are just a number to them. one out of hundreds of millions of people. ebay is making so much money that really losing you or me and our 1000 a month in fees is really like us losing one penny every hundred years.

Also you should buy the stealth guide because i can see some fault in your new account you opened in your daughters name. Like an IP issue among other things.

But welcome to the forum and just READ READ READ READ. You can never have to much info when it comes to fighting the MAN "EBAY".

Heads up... If you created the account using your daughter's information on the same PC, or using the same internet connection, the account is a goner....

I do empathize with you.

This kind of story is becoming all too familiar. So don't think you are the only one.

This forum is proof of that. Read the stealth guide before you do anything else.

Right on. 20 years ago, I was a young lad using a dial-up modem to call bulletin boards. We didn't have browsers back then. It was called terminal software. And long distance calls were very expensive so we stole long distance service. It was known as phreaking. How else could you afford to call Europe at rates of $1/min? It used to take 10 mins just to transfer a 1 megabyte file. And if you were poor and only had a 2400 baud modem, it would take you 1 hour!

And then one day the government and academic community decided to make cyberspace public. And the rest is history.

Oops! where did the OP list for 4 years

Math is not your strong point is it

If it was cyberspace, that explains why the parcels got damaged.
The Matrix could not cope.

You asked for advice:

Dont tell porkies
Dont swear even if the words get blanked out.

Send me a pm with your ID on ebay. Because if you are such a long standing ebayer, then the forum will try to help you beat them.

But if you are just playing, then we enjoyed the game

Auctionweb.

OK.... So the OP is slightly wrong on her dates. More like 16 years or so. But I was there too. And I remember the BBS's as well. In fact, I ran the Phantom Illusion in Chicago. I was lucky, my parents bought me a US Robotics 14.4k modem. Back then, it was $600. And a 30 MEGAbyte hard drive was $300. The first 1 GIG hard drive that came out cost $10,000.

Why, back then we had to dial our favorite BBS and endure endless busy signals until we could get on. Downloads were slow, limited not only by YOUR modem, but also on the modem that the BBS had. We all had HUGE phone bills. Compuserve cost $12 per hour. AOL was the cheaper one, at $6 per hour. Most people had monitors that were 12" and displayed ONE color - green or maybe amber. If you were lucky, maybe you had a CGA color monitor. They cost $400 and you had 16 colors to choose from. VGA monitors were $900 and we couldn't even imagine flat panels. The computers themselves started at about $1,000 for a very low end system. They had 640 KB of RAM. We had floppy discs everywhere. They held 360 KB of data. Then they had 720 KB and topped out at 1.44 MB.

We had dot matrix printers, and MAN WERE THEY NOISY! Black and white only, and they weren't so good with graphics either.

We could run only ONE program at a time. We had to know the DOS comamnds. Mice were optional. They had little balls in them that would get clogged with dirt and grime, and would freeze all the time until we cleaned tham, which was NOT an easy task.

Yet somehow we survived.

So all you younger people out there, show some respect if age has taken a toll and we are a couple of years off. Thanks to our generation you now have computers running 4+ cores at 3+ GHZ with 6 GB+ of memory, optical mice that don't need to be cleaned and HDMI graphics. You can actually download a movie, or stream one online. You can have 14 programs running at once. And you have plenty of space to store it all with 2 Terabyte hard drives that cost $100.

Life wasnt always this easy!

1994 is when ebay/auctionweb started so you cannot have sold on this site for 20 years.

Do not know if you just forgot when you started or what but anyone who started in the day like a few of us here did remember it well.

If you are for real then we can all learn something from you because you lasted that long without any issues and all of a sudden had some issues.

I attend a ton of auctions, sales etc and know many, many people who have sold on ebay since 1994-95 and every single one of them has told me they had their accounts go down at one time or another for some reason. Many got them back and running but not one I know of ever said it was smooth sailing for them for this entire time.

Op- Maybe you have this site mixed up with another site that never made it like ebay did.

Pierre would not be very happy if someone made it for 16 years with no problems and then all of a sudden they were taken down.

Ah memories. The first pc I bought was a 386 in 1990
I think cost me £400! It was running ms dos & windows 3.1, I think the cpu was about 50hrz? it had 2mb ram and 300mb hard drive. Gees they where hard work cos there was no plug and play in them days you had to configer everything yourself. I was chuffed when I managed to bag myself a 486 LOL

Wink Get back at Ebay

[QUOTE=nak;222075]if it is an indefinite suspension then it is forever and you cant do a thing about it that's just how ebay rolls now.

My account was suspended indefinitely and after lots of conversayions, letters etc Ziltch.

If everyone left bad star ratings (there meant to be annonymous) for every transaction, soon Ebay would have to suspend all its buyers and sellers.

They would have to change policy or go bust.

Pass it on and it might happen.
