MC049 - Account Suspended after selling only two items

Hello xxyyzz (xxyyzz@gmail.com),

Your eBay account has been suspended. eBay took this action after determining that your account was acting inconsistently with the letter or spirit of our policies.

You are prohibited from using eBay in any way. This includes using another existing account or registering a new account.

Any seller fees that are still owed are due to eBay immediately. eBay will charge any amounts that you have not previously disputed to the billing method that is currently on file.

We need you to take action. For more information about why your account may have been suspended and what steps to take now, please go to:

Gotcha - you've been linked!!!:doh::rant::eek:

SSAI 05-04-2011 12:08 PM

oh man, not again. I have spent almost 200 USD buying new phone connections, internets buying stuff over ebay... :(

GrannyT 05-04-2011 12:14 PM

Where did you go wrong? That's what you have to identify or alternatively what are you selling that's raising flags?:juggle:

SSAI 05-04-2011 12:18 PM

The things I am selling are already sold by a number of people on eBay so thats not the problem. I jsut sell them at a cheaper rate.

I think a few days ago I logged into my suspended account accidently which might have got me suspended. But I am not sure only logging in would cause this much problem?

GrannyT 05-04-2011 12:20 PM

You have your answer!!

SSAI 05-04-2011 12:23 PM

But my IP changes all the time.. Now do I need a new connection again?

GrannyT 05-04-2011 12:36 PM

That could be the problem but I tend to think you logged onto your old account and your new cookies and beacons flashed up everywhere. I use one machine for one a/c and change my IP every time. - Works for me:pry:

It could be that what you are selling (regardless if other sellers do as well) is considered high-risk by eBay and is causing them to look more closely at your account.

For example, some electronics are considered high-risk. So is jewely, rare coins, autographs and anything that is commonly counterfeited (DVD's for example). There are other categories as well.

When eBay sees low prices on those items on a new account, they get suspicious.

Or, your VPN provider could be on their blacklist. eBay REALLY does not like VPN's. When they find someone using a VPN, they locate the ENTIRE RANGE of IP addresses for that host and ban them.

And, YES, accidentally logging into your suspended account on a new account would do it as well. That is a DEFINITE link.

GrannyT 05-04-2011 12:46 PM

I didn't realise you were on VPN - I've never used one but I have heard nothing but bad about them. Thing is hon what you are doing is not working. You have to change your game plan. If you keep doing what you've always done you will keep getting the same result that you've always had - sorry, but that's the way it is (unless anyone knows different of course):pop2:

SSAI 05-04-2011 01:13 PM

I Am not on VPN at all. I am using a Dial-up connection. The item I am selling are usually sold as 260+shipping, I sell them at 230$ including shipping, if that helps.

GrannyT 05-04-2011 01:20 PM

Hmmmm - have you upset the neighbours?:suspicious:

I just had this discussion somewhere else.... Why if someone is selling the same item @ $260 would you sell it for $230? Why leave $30 on the table? It seems only on Amazon this mistake is not made. Thats just bad business for everyone...

Next time list it for $255 or something closer to the average range...

SSAI 05-04-2011 02:25 PM

See, its because we get the same item at 110USD equivalent. And its not a problem if I can understand the system, because the original account which was suspended, I was selling the same items on, the price was even less from 230USD. The gap between in my prices and other's was near to 100USD. I had over 100,000USD business on that account. But unfortunately, a month came in which I got quite a few complaints which lead to ban because of non-seller performance.

Anyways, I know this is not the case, there is something to do with linking.

rsot 05-04-2011 02:57 PM

1st question: Have you received any follow-up e-mail from eb ay?

@GTran - while it's safe to say linking has occurred ha, don't just jump and say you've been linked =) This is not the case yet - 1 time log in could create the link but not 100%...then again, I am not sure if the poster had just logged in once...that also is suspect.

@SSAI, have you received alerts in the past for this item you are selling -suspensions, warnings, etc? even on OLD accounts?

SSAI 05-05-2011 05:48 AM

This is what I got today
