Default Mysterious vanishing listings

anybody have a take on this?

I set up a new account after being suspended. the new account was set up following the pointers laid out on this site.

I got the score up after buying a few items over the few months I was on. A while ago l put a new CC card down and listed a few items. all the listings had previously unused info in them - photos, descriptions, titles, price points etc

despite getting a confirmation email on each listing, they all disappeared a few days later - WTF???????

then I was unable to log onto my new account. I haven't had any emails from ebay saying I've been suspended again and when I go to log on it says my password is incorrect. I go through the process of resetting it, I get a message saying a confirmation email is on its way to allow you to reset the password but nothing is coming through.

2 strange things here - the vanishing listings and the account lock out. any suggestions?

jc

Default Hijacked

Sounds like you've been hijacked brother. :(

Sounds like someone has stolen your account and changed your email address and password to theirs.

Uh oh. And problem is you probably can't contact EBay - or maybe you can.

Good luck.

Smile Hijacked

Ebay didn't lock you out.Someone has probably hacked into your account and stolen your information. They probably have changed your password so you can no longer access it.If that is the case, you should go to ebay website and report account/password theft and see what they have for you.I have noticed that most of the mails sent to ebay for account review & suspension reinstatements are most replied to during the weekends so see what happens.

Any update on what happened? Hopefully you didn't follow an email supposedly from eBay about you needing to update your account, or some other BS asking you to basically login. Hopefully you didn't do that, if you have then you more then likely lost your account to a scammer. :(

Let us know what happened.

Lightbulb It would be real easy to recognize a hijacked account...

The account name remains the same right? If I am joe_thinks_ebay_sucks as a seller or buyer I can't change that.

So, just log in as a different user and find out if your old account has any auctions running. You can even create a new account and do this without a credit card or bank account.

If you search and find that joe_thinks_ebay_sucks has a slew of items you never heard of, well, then it is obvious you were hijacked.

I wonder if EBAY could use this mechanism on a questionable account to try and find out who you are. Gee, am I getting too paranoid? :o
