You would need to have 1,500 sales with perfect DSRs to meet the 1% criteria. Ebay gives you 3 months to improve your scores. At the point you are at, they have probably limited your selling amount. You would have to have 877 mores sales. It is a VERY grim picture. I used to teach algebra ...I am in Kindergarten now

Should I just delete all accounts and start over before my account is suspended? Will this account become suspended and really create a problem? Will I reach standard performance if I just don't sell on this account for awhile?

Thank you,

Jason
I was in nearly the same exact situation. 10+ year old account and I thought I could get away charging huge shipping but it got me in trouble with the number of low DSR scores. We used to get away with this back in the old days, but now it's a problem. So, there were to ways to solve this problem:

(1) Free Shipping - every feedback I got, would be an automatic 5 stars in this category.
(2) Volume Sales - 400 feedbacks in 3 months, means they only count the last 3 months in DSR vs. 12 months for lesser volume sales. Find any cheap stuff at 99 cent stores, coupons, whatever you can find to barely break even. The volume sales will keep you in the green.

I got under the 2.0% maximum for the shipping & handling DSR category for 12 months, and now I'm about to go 0% with 5 stars once they start rating me for 3 months this next evaluation. Took a ton of work, but I wanted to keep my 10 year account.

His weakness is in the item described area. That has the smallest percentage allowed. I think it is about 1%. When your scores are above that point, you are LIMITED in how much you can sell. Like I said, he would have to sell a lot to get the % down. I would like to see your game plan for Jaymay75 and how this will work. Jaymay needs to get a stealth prepared. before this current account goes down. Go stealth..don't play by Ebay's rules...you will lose!

My game plan for jaymay75 is to aim for 400 feedbacks within 3 months to get his DSR's rated for only 3 months vs. 1 year. Be creative. I was even selling my packaging material I bought in bulk. I calculated the price so that I eek'ed out to cover all postage and shipping material costs to break even.

He should also prepare for the worse and research setting up stealth accounts. That why I found myself here. I researched stealth accounts because I thought my account would get suspended. But I haven't gotten suspended (yet) and my DSRs continue to improve.

How do you suppose he will reach 400 quicky when this message clearly reads he is limited to 84 sales? He has 3 months to improve.

I have an account that is 10/1000 with limits because of DSRS (4 low ratings). This account is toast f or the most part. Not much i can do. I had idiot buyers... 1 buyer sent money.. paypal put a hold on it to investigate... she freaked out, left me a negative because i refused to ship. I call her up, and it's a NYC hotel and nobody knows WTF she is.... I call ebay and they tell me, we'll make it so she has to change her #... i was like, what good is that? She left me a negative and low dsrs... I have some scrub in puerto rico claim my items are ⊗⊗⊗⊗.. leaves me 2 neutrals with 2 low dsrs.. i went from TRS in june, to BELOW standard and limited to 10 items in august.

I didn't even do anything wrong really lol

Oh and another dude, who leaves negatives claiming you sent him a empty box. if you review his feedback... Other sellers reply to their own positive feedback telling how he did the same thing... i contacted ebay again, and nothing came of it. Here we have a guy who buys stuff.... leaves negatives and claims non receipt, and doesn't open cases... because obviously he received it. I saw at least FIVE sellers with the same "reply" on his feedback saying about his scam. Ebay did nothing

I sold 85 items yesterday. All penny auctions and stuff lying around the house. I donated all proceeds to charity. At least I'm trying to improve. See what happens.

@jaymay75, that is a good start - hope the feedback and DSRs come in timely for you and elevate your account.

Yea, my tips won't work as 85 listings is severely limiting. But I do suggest attempting to use his limit monthly to improve his metrics. Really work on the item description and add more pics. If more than 85 listings is still necessary (550 feedbacks in 10 years?) then read up on stealth. Do research on the book before starting.

Researching? Who are you referring to? Jaymay?

That begs another question... i have an account that is below standard... meaning 1 dsr from being normal..well border normal. i still can sell like 3k a month this account. Should i just go balls to the walls with it because i know when the 1 month or so review comes and i am still nowhere near the 1% they require... at least i had maxxed out my sales... or just let the account age and hope the dsr's etc... problems go away in 3-6-9 months? This account is about 8 months old

I would only max out the sales if you are careful and keep people happy. I don't know about waiting it out. I didn't do that. I know about the % issue, selling limits, DSRs, etc because that is what happened to me. I kept selling and it was a losing battle because I couldn't sell nearly what I needed to in order to improve the scores for shipping time. Also, mine was when they first started the DSR "checks" and I didn't realize you could get indefinitely restricted because of it.

That's why i was saying, if i get indefinitely restricted or limited to 10 items like on another below average account of mine... it might be best to take advantage of my old limits. heh

If it will eventually fix itself because of dropping off over time, i'd be cool with that. But i don't think it works that way. Open cases are my problem. People NEED to know that opening a case is last resort.

Open cases should of never been counted, it should only be unresolved cases where it takes ebay manpower to mediate. If a seller fixes the situation... like how it does on paypal disputes, it shouldn't count against them. Why on paypal does it not effect you, but on ebay it does.

Annoying

I agree with the unresolved cases. There are too many buyers that have evil intentions. We can't prevent all the cases, but we can resolve them. I'm not sure about leaving an account for awhile to see if the situation improves. I would go ahead and max it out. What do you have to lose Do you have a back up stealth account in place when/if this one goes down?

I saw in the new changes that are coming soon if not already the buyers must email the seller to resolve the issue prior to filing a case. If you get a claim and they never even contacted you it wont count against you.

I need to read the details but that was the jist of it.

It is nice to know you are following the Ebay "rules" carefully and keeping everyone posted. You always give factual advice that people can count on =)

I recommend you read their wording carefully.... Its very misleading. Check it out. Do i hope it helps? Yes, but ebay is tricky. Just read the wording... heh or listen to the girl call you and read the script... she reads the email word for word lol

I have plenty of accounts, but i sell certain products on certain accounts. Things get dicey, i move a easy item to it and let it settle awhile... or to rebuild certain things. i probably should have more accounts, i'm working on it for the holidays, now is the time. i know a lot on here have 30-40 i am not that big. But, i do ok
