Default Made Mistakes Buy Want To Be Legit

My original eBay account was created in 2003 and I used it up until 2010 before it was shut down permanently. I was young and made mistakes - nothing bad, but stupid listing violations, VERO violations, etc.

I created a new account 6 months ago with the same paypal and home address, but changed the spelling on my first name and used a different home number. I started slow, but have been averaging $10,000 in sales the past 4 months and have received calls from both paypal and ebay praising my sales and asking if there is anything they can help with.

However, now that I can see eBay is a great opportunity to supplement my income, I am worried that those two accounts will be tied together and the new account will be shut down. Actually, after reading through these forums and the stealth guide, I don't understand how it hasn't already been suspended. The new account is totally legit - just buying low and selling high on electronics. I'm a powerseller with 100% feedback.

I really want to use eBay to make money, but can't afford to go "all-in" with it knowing my account could be suspended. What do you guys thinks would be the best solution? I could probably just have my wife open a new eBay and Paypal account with a new PO Box address and telephone number, but I'd prefer to keep her name off things. I want to do things right and actually make my eBay sales into a legit business. Do you think a new Paypal account with a new eBay account with an LLC and EIN would be the best route?

I really appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

Buy the stealth guide If you haven't already, there's more to this than creating new pp/eb accounts, If you do just that you are missing other important steps that will get you linked even if you change the info.

I did something similar to you, but just a little different before joining this forum awhile back. Some accounts were suspended (not stealth), but another wasn't, how IDK, but I changed the name thinking I could get away, and I did for around 4-5 months making good money without any holds, but they finally got me. Since you've lasted for 6 months, you just may get away with it for the year, possibly longer, im not going to jinx you. Good Luck!

*Edit* Saw that you read the stealth guide, skip that..............

Welcome to the forums - Red_X is good with his recommendation. Best to spread sales once stealth is implemented.

There is no use worrying about it. It does not matter who you are or what you sell, you can get suspended from ebay or paypal at a moments notice. The best plan is to just have back up accounts ready to go.

If it is only address that is linking the account, you should be fine. eBay/Paypal tends to go easy on address if it hasn't been used for at least 6 month, since people do move and whatnot.
However, if your account do go under manual review, you might be dead.

Thanks for the info guys - I really appreciate it.

One thing bothering me - I've logged-in to my second account at work. I work with 20+ other people and I know a number of them have eBay accounts and log-in at work as well. Would their accounts be suspended if eBay catches my second account?

1 time is UNLIKELY to cause problems - don't repeat....ESPECIALLY at work place and pub(l)ic areas.

IMHO, I think that if you are looking to create a legitimate business including paying taxes and being honest about everything (aside from your old account), incorporating your business is the ONLY way to go.

Once eBay sees this, you will be better off and safer.
