Default Ebay account deleted for inactivity

This isn't exactly a suspension and I'm not exactly a seller. My account was deleted for inactivity. I had some feedback on the account from buying, and was thinking about using it to sell some things. When I tried to log on today I could not. After talking to customer service for hours one of them finally told me that my account was probably deleted for inactivity.

Does anyone know if there is anything I can do? Ebay's website doesn't seem to say anything about it.

I asked the service rep. how long an account has to be inactive before they delete it. She said "a couple of years". I said "There has to be some kind of exact timeline for when an account get's deleted." Annoyed she said, "Let's say five years." I'm guessing either she didn't know, or she was not supposed to tell.

well if it was your real information on the account and the account was just deleted. I am guessing you can just sign up again.
It would be a lot easier and a lot less hassle than trying to get anything out of customer service.

From reports 5 years seems to be the length of time.

Customer Service work 'off scripts'. I leave that to your imagination as to the quality of service you could expect

If the account had some selling history, some users reported that they got emails advising of pending closure.

Buyers appear not to be so lucky.

Call back and if you dont get the answer you want ask to speak to a supervisor.

If this is a real account and you did nothing wrong they should fix it.

actually sandy he was inactive and after a certain amount of time they have the right to close your account without your consent especially if it is only used for selling as that means you have no selling history build-up

Its Funny how Ebay will Delete an Old account like that,,,I Bet if that old account was connected in any way to what Ebay would consider "Risky Behavior" They will Rememder EVERY Detail of that account the MOMENT you go the sign up for a New account so they can link the 2 Accounts together and Boot you again,,,

Default I never got the e-mail.

I never got the e-mail. I think they sent the e-mail to an e-mail account that has also been deleted. I used to use pop-mail so all my e-mail accounts were directed into thunderbird. I quit using thunderbird and just started using g-mail instead. The company that hosted one of the accounts deleted all the free accounts and then went out of business, and I think that is probably the e-mail account that ebay sent the account closure notice to.

I had acct dormant for 3-4 years without it getting closed back in 2009 when I started again. Maybe different criteria then. There may different criteria based on how long the acct was open and how it was used and $ volume might come into play for EB closing. Guaranty this other than the forum getting a defector from EB we will prolly never know. Like so much here we try to outguess with success.

I know I'm new here, but I have created different ebay accounts in 2008, stealth mode. Wasn't too into it. I learned from lurking here, but never bought the Stealth Book. At this moment, I have it, because I am serious of getting on to ebay and making money again. But yea, back to what I wanted to say, a couple days ago, Aug 20, 2013, I was trying to log into those stealth accounts I had years ago, now it's gone too! I had feedback on it too. I looked at my excel sheet just to make sure the pw was correct, and it was indeed gone. Oh well.
