Default Ebay account with 50k+ transactions suspended

Just had to rant a little here. Had a ebay account 7+ years old...$2mm+ in sales 50k+ transactions, and i didnt break any rules and they suspended me..i can still buy and bid but not sell.

The long story is my ratings got low in a quarter back in August 2011 - i illegitimately sucked for a few months on my shipping time and email -, and i got massive limited. So i talked to ebay and they said to let the account rest for a bit and the old bad ratings would come of. So i let it rest almost a year. Tried to get it reactivated last week....and ebay told me that my account cant sell ever again because it was dormant too long....i spent 45 min on the phone with them trying to figure any way i could get that reconciled since i didnt break any rules and just had not been selling. They told me to make a new account and start over....seriously!? anyway...welcome to ebay.
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!

you dont wanna follow those reps most of the time. Their not in it for your best interest. You should have kept selling that way you could get your metrics back up while letting time go by.

Its sad when one loses an account like that

Wow! It looks that account was really nice. Maybe you should give them another call? Sometimes other reps are more helpful.

As this account was not limited for any policy violations you an at least link it to a new account to remove the new seller listing limits. Should be safe to use this method if no violations took place and the acccount dashboard is not showing as NARU. A small consolation but a consolation all the same.

Also you can appeal the suspension and should win or call and talk to a supervisor and say you are willing to have selling limits on account to prove yourself again like new sellers should be willing to reinstate

email the office of the president - ootp at ebay . com

they usually respond within 24-48 hours. try to appeal through them.

It didn't work for me, but I've heard it work for others.

best of luck.

not true, sounds like it was done for low DSR's in shipping time, so the OP got the notification from eb, then unfortunately followed the rep's (idiotic) advice that cost him the account. Feel free to view my similar recent posts regarding my original account. From a uk perspective I'd say the account is a goner selling-wise, but with usa eb there might be more ways to fight back as sopme other posters have suggested

Yea, if you have those kind of sales with legit products I don't see why eBay/paypal wouldn't want you money. Also if you sell over 100 or 200k a year for 2 plus years in a row. From what I understand they give you an account manager who you can talk to. Why haven't you talked to them?

Something smells wrong here. You supposedly can't sell anymore because it's been "dormant too long"? For 1 year? I've had accounts with no activity for 2 years and was able to sell right away again without issues.
