Default Hey, have any of you even tried to get reinstated?

I had so many accounts suspended for abusing ebay and it was sometimes 7 day, 12 month, or indefinite. For the latter indefinite, can I be reinstated? Ebay didn't mention about it in their suspension letter to me, and I want to try because I was a powerseller in my really old suspended accounts...

indefinitely usually means 12 months. I've reinstated a 7 day account, but still got suspended again and received the 12 months penalty.

Which is why it's pointless to do so.

well one of my accounts that was suspended 9 days ago just got reinstated today and I listed 18 items and it's okay.

last time another account got suspended for 7 days. as soon as it was reinstated and i mean the SECOND it got reinstated I was suspended indefinitely.

I mean WTF why bother reinstating me if you are just going to suspend me indefinitely?

OH and I checked the EBAY glossary (yea I didn't know there was this thing either) but INDEFINATELY = 60 days . You can check it out on Ebay.

They said they would reinstate you. They didn't say for how long

60 days? I thought I saw it in the suspension email that it said it's 12 months.

Just got suspend for due to a "related" account (not mine). There was no mention of how long. I did send an email to their "suspension" address, but again no specifics. How long am I in the naughty boy time out corner? Days, forever???

Yep, I got the same thing. They told me 12 months. Then when I wrote them a letter. They said INDEFINATELY. I would not have bothered to write, but like so many other sellers I had attained the powerseller status and had 100% positive feedback. I'm not sure if the 12 months and INDEFINATE suspension are the same or not but I would like to know where you read about the 60 days.

How does one file an "appeal"? The email I got said, "Please note that unless you have evidence to prove that you are not linked to the above account, we will not accept any additional appeals or requests for more information." What do they mean by evidence? This whole thing is very creepy. I feel like the ebay police are looking in my window.

So if you're suspended "indefinately" and never bother to do anything about it, will the suspension eventually be lifted just on the factor of time alone? Assuming it's not anything money related of course. I doubt ebay would forget or forgive a debt.

I wouldnt even worry about an suspended account know that you and I have found this great forum. It is pointless to try and reinstate an suspended account knowing they can suspend you again 1 week later. i would never give ebay none of the information that they be requesting

I got a supension for 12 months (for being related to an account that was suspended indefinately). I too would like to know whether the account with the 12 month suspension will be re-activated after 12 months wihtout input from me, or whether they only *might* re-activate after I have sent them the loads of personal documents. I suspect the answer is the latter..?

No, it will not reactivate by itself.

Read above. Also even if the 12 months period is over, ebay is still very unlikely to reactivate your account. So I seriously advise you to start over fresh. You can definitely try after that suspension period, but it doesn't hurt to start a new one just in case.

Soooo... just so I understand, Ebay leaves you hanging with an indefinite suspension and no clear path to reinstatement. Even with reinstatement, bam, they can shut you down again for something silly. It seems to me that they are incenting us/me to find a work-around. Am I missing something? I'd love to follow the legitimate path, but there are no options!

I’m just a casual user on Ebay for my hobbies. I could really care less, but this whole experience is odd. I feel bad for you guys trying to run a business

The reason I asked that above is that I'm trying to figure out why a suspended account in my paypal that I've only "just" removed recently but have had on there apparently for some time hasn't caused any problems for other accounts? ? Just lucky? The only thing I could think of is that the suspension for the other user had been lifted at some point. Of course I may just go check it out myself now that I think of it. But I did find it extremely odd.

Well, just to follow the legit path, I mailed a "Request for Reinstatement of eBay Account", a copy of a credit card statement and my license. It's been a week and I haven't heard anything. Is ebay purposely pushing us to cheat the system? This is very very frustrating because I haven't done a damn thing wrong!!

Woodside, I did that "Request for Reinstatement of eBay Account" as well and waited 2 weeks and no reply. I then sent them a "polite" email they then apologised and said they had a backlog and that it'll take another week. One week later I was back online, at least they kept their word on that...

I continue to find this amazing. We have to beg, be "polite", to get back on. " When you have a moment dear ebay, pretty please, I'll be a good boy, get me out of the time out corner... " I felt very uncomfortable sending them a credit card statement and a copy of my license. Imagine if a retail store asked for such personal information before you walked in the door. I'd laugh, then walk down the street to the competitor. Our problem is there is no comparable competitor for eBay. The arrogance...

That is why we should all get together and create the next monster!!!!!!
I have been working on an auction site and will be done in about a month or so, I am not saying that it will be great but I am going to give it a try.

The bad part is I am not a great graphics person, I also do not want to pay out the but to haveit done so for now I do my best. If anyone is in NJ or knows someone that is a good graphics designer let me know as maybe a deal can be worked out. I also have other sites running that could use a face lift.....

Later Gators

I don't know why most people will use Ewaey.com - The World´s New Marketplace and help promote them. The are the only thing that will even come close to being the next ebay.

and also you can post you project on a freelancer site. They are very cheap and most people will be fighting with loow prices to do your project.

And to let you know that Ewaey sent me this notice....

"Join us! Get your free eStore and we will place a Google Adwords just for your storefront! Yes! Its free! Its fun! Its ewaey.com! Ads will start running august 1st 2007!"

Everyone if your so tired of Ebay, do something about it and quit complaing. This is a good auction site that is trying to compete with ebay but everyone makes excuse as not to sell on the site. No traffic, none of this, bla bla blahh...

Default Everyone here should list on EAWAY.COM

Thank you Chris for this :
Ewaey.com - The long-awaited competition to eBay

Even though they have very little activity, they are FREE to list, free to buy, free all the way.
Every suspended ebayer owes it to themselves to list on EWAEY, IN ADDITION to any efforts expended to get back on eBay
We are the ideal candidated to get this site rolling. There must be 10,000 of us disgruntled suspended ebayers, we form a real force with our numbers.

They have the look and feel of ebay, every function and bit of information is in the exact same place as on ebay, so it is familiar-looking and easy to use.
