Yes, I believe you are correct in your assessment of eBay preferring large corporate sellers. It is comical in a way. eBay caters to scammers - yet only the largest sellers can afford to endure the losses from them. A marriage made in heaven it seems.

I remember the very first power seller ever to get the boot. Cannot remember their user name but they were the talk of the town at the very first ebay live etc.

Within a year ebay did not like the numbers, etc and booted them.

They opened their own website and did 3 x the business they did on ebay.

Funny part ebay tried to sue them because they were sending emails to all their ebay customers to come to their website and ebay wanted paid for that.

This was when Meg was running the show.

Now this idiot running it wants corporate stores on ebay and no longer any small timer who built them into what they are today.

I'm wondering what's the point of having corporate stores if the corporation has the money and resources to create their own website and just manipulate the search ranking themselves to draw traffic? Why would a big corporation doing tons of revenue pay that 10% to eBay? They could just keep it themselves. Lol

They dont pay ebay 10%.

They get huge cuts for sure.

And 10% is nothing to someone like Best Buy working on 1000% markups etc.

Draws would be buyers to their stores, cost less then advertising etc.

All kinds of reasons.

One is they can add to their mailing list which is huge business.

Diversification is key to success in a market that continues to evolve. Mathematically the more visible the more profit there is.
