Default Still Required ID Verification For Seller Acct

I followed all the rules:

New paypal - w/new Bank of America account + pre-paid CC
Bought a TracFone
New Public IP
Reloaded W7 on my PC
Made Ebay user acct on PC

Created Ebay acct...and went to sell...and it said I could sell 0 items and I had to call in for ID verification

WTH! Ebay is getting nasty!!

Did you list anything at all or just get limited right from the start?

What do you mean with "New Public IP"?
The IP your ISP gave you or you accessed the internet from a public hot-spot?

Hoping that you didn't use library or McD's or Starbucks...you need your own un-abused IP

I've used public (Starbucks, McDonald'e etc) more than 20 times to create and then list items on.......it's never been an issue for me.....just my own experience.

Some public ips are still good because no one has abused them.

Others not so well.

No need to use public ips with all the cheap ways to get a good solid ip anymore.

Sometimes you have to buy a few cheap things just to get some feedback. Like Sandy says get some browsing history, etc. Just small steps to make it look like you are new eBayer. Personally I always register my accounts as non-selling ones. Buy a couple cheap items and age them a bit. Then I register as a seller and list a few low risk household type items discussed on so many threads.

For sure. It was the older way back in the early forum days.

Waiting to sell worked for many new stealthers then. Still works now.

Cool experience but still...especially for new people starting out on stealth...they need to avoid this for potential problems.

I am not a fan of using public IP that other people could have already had problems on

Was the address you used a REAL existing street address or one that was made up?

Patience will grow accounts and make you lots more money then rushing and making mistakes.

Baby stealths turn into monster stealths if ran correctly over time.

I get the same problem new eBay/PP and create a seller account and get 0 limit from the start? Have their rule has been changed now that you will 0 limit from the start and you need to call them. I call them and they ask me to send in ID and address to verify? Please confirm that all accounts are like this now and of course this is a stealth account. Usually you get 10 items. But nothing now from the start.

I would recommend VPN, no public IP, some are un abused and some aren't. Don't take the chances, just pay the $10 a month for VPN Services.
