Re: It's raining MC999s Will get worse for holiday season :( |
| qantum | 11-12-2014 11:58 AM | Re: It's raining MC999s I created 7 today. 2 acc get MC999, 2 acc get 5/500, 2 acc get 10/1000 and 1 acc get 500/25000.
I have never created any account that has the limit more than 10/1000 before.
I feel scared a little bit if I lost it. Does anyone know how to keep the acc in good standing with high limit at the beginning? |

| goldstealth | 11-12-2014 05:51 PM | Re: It's raining MC999s I'm not sure if you said how aged these accounts are but photo linkage really takes time to link. Photo linkage is really something that must be repeated constantly overtime to raise flags. I had all photos from my iPhone on many stealths without one limitation (that was over a year on those accounts).
Don't get me wrong once I found it can possibly get me suspended I started cleaning all my photos. If you haven't selected your emails not to show images, also think about email linkage with flash cookies inside the photos. |

Vero items or not, it doesn't matter. I've gotten this too. I'm suspecting possible link, due to category or photos. |
I have just got VERO warning a few days ago, and now it is indefinite restriction.
I don't get it, I was a power seller with 100% positive and great ratings.
Somebody must have sent in a complain or anything
It was so sudden
ohh.... |

you have 3 ways:
1- try to open Ebay account with name and address match along with zip code for the phone number. ask your friend or your relative if your own details suspended before on Ebay.
2- Try any other Ebay Market not the US
3- go illegal and you will operate your account from behind bars | that first step seems a little silly to me.
as many would agree - using family or friends information is a very unnecessary dangerous idea.
unless you don't care for them ofcourse! |
| sugarlaces | 11-19-2014 04:34 AM | Re: It's raining MC999s Did you get get first VERO then few days later suspension?
As after second removal of items you know 3rd time they will restrict or suspend. Quote:

| exxomscp | 11-19-2014 06:05 PM | Re: It's raining MC999s I've gotten MC999's for 3 days in a row. Geez.
Switching categories again and hope I get lucky. This is just stupid. |
| peghmeypong | 11-19-2014 06:23 PM | Re: It's raining MC999s Are you guys hitting these MC999s on first listing or on first 24hours of listing? Or are these on accounts you've sold on previously? |
| bjammin | 11-19-2014 08:38 PM | Re: It's raining MC999s What MC999's are yall getting? Account Restriction on the first item listed or Account Registrationor someting different? |
| solefoodbk | 11-19-2014 08:42 PM | Re: It's raining MC999s I got a MC999 on an account aged 2 months with decent sales and perfect feedback, dsr, and shipping EVERYTHING same day.
It was the standard MC999 where you answer questions like "how do you ship your items?" "where are your products now" ....etc.
I had already called upon opening this account and passed this MC999 so thats the same MC999 twice.
This is fine because its super easy to pass BUT as we all know if you get a bad rep they can if their ugly hearts desire to ask us database questions. Not sure if this is the MC999 you all are referring to. Its only happened once and this account had already seen increase limits to 20/1250. |
| exxomscp | 11-19-2014 08:52 PM | Re: It's raining MC999s My MC999's are immediate takedowns and result in a permanent suspension (which is what I assume people are talking about here). These are not the call-in types. They happen usually hours before my auction listings end after being up for a full week. Oh, the suspense!
Was doing fine in the same category earlier this / last week. I noticed that I started encountering this since the beginning of November, but they're getting more aggressive. Switching categories and items for a week and then reverting back seems to work. I have a feeling they're just watching certain categories for trouble now or something... It's just a guessing game. Who knows.
Either way, gonna keep chuggin'! I've lost some accounts, but it's TO BE EXPECTED around this time of year. I'm getting close to my goal this month anyway.. |

Any idea why? Are you selling out of character for the accounts? How many are you receiving .... details ??? |
| rayraymond1218 | 11-20-2014 02:21 AM | Re: It's raining MC999s Anyone else got mc999 after the first listing to test selling limits? ( listings were low risked used clothings), I didn't upload pictures, may be the reason? |
| peghmeypong | 11-20-2014 03:17 AM | Re: It's raining MC999s I did get a few MC999s a while back on listing first item, but just played dumb on phone and got them removed. Then a couple of weeks ago started hitting the permanent ban ones on more established accounts (Lost about 1 in 2 accounts). I can't explain them but I'm worried that it's more in depth hardware tracking - could be paranoia/could be just the Christmas cull and some of my behaviours have been identified as risky. Either way, I hate this time of year (in terms of EB). Thinking of squirrelling away all year and going off the grid in Nov and Dec next year. It's cost me thousands already this year. |

Your stealth practices must be flawed somewhere. |
| peghmeypong | 11-20-2014 04:04 AM | Re: It's raining MC999s Yes I understand that and I accept that my stealth practices aren't perfect, but they work for me January to October and I strike a balance between work/profit that I'm more than happy with.
This season is also the highest in limitations across EB/PP. I've had no problems at all all year, until November, then I've been hitting limitations on some of my accounts. My practices haven't changed, plus some accounts are still fine, so I must assume EB/PP's practices have, specifically for Christmas, as they seem to every year.
I've not done the maths yet, but as a guesstimate, I don't believe that currently (for my setup, which works for me 10/12 of the year) it is actually worth the increase in sales for the wastage of a few accounts. Not just for the monetary loss, but also the work that goes into aging and maturing accounts properly.
It can't be denied that EB/PP change it up for Christmas. |
| exxomscp | 11-21-2014 12:47 AM | Re: It's raining MC999s Personally, I don't think it has anything to do about stealth practices. Alot of us have been operating fine for months already. |

I didn't think ebay staff would EVER take any notice of a 'competitor seller' reporting another sellers items
I always thought ebay never took any notice at all of any user reporting anything?
They only act on vero participants reports no? |

| Salvo | 11-23-2014 02:13 AM | Re: It's raining MC999s Yea there are different types of messages too, one that inclines you were reported by other members. |
| exxomscp | 11-26-2014 07:42 AM | Re: It's raining MC999s Selling other lower-cost items and things are working out partially (just have to sell double as much), but still coming across an MC999 every now and then.
Seem to get caught in the middle of a ban wave every once in a while. Seems to come up whenever they choose to review a huge list of accounts.
I can't see how anyone can keep a stealth operating under these conditions. If Ebay is clamping down this hard on sellers this holiday season, they must really be losing a lot of money. |
| yotano211 | 11-26-2014 01:11 PM | Re: It's raining MC999s Its why you should be multiple accounts up and running. We might have lost some accounts but not have lost all accounts. After this season things will get back to normal. Quote:

Does ebay ease up right after holidays (january), or do you have to wait until february before it really settles? |

| Onion | 11-26-2014 10:57 PM | Re: It's raining MC999s I created ten accounts this week, and all but 2 of them got the MC999 of death. I have been creating stealth accounts since 2010, this is the worst I have ever seen it. I'm not listing high risk items, just cheap cell phone accessories. The most expensive item I listed was a $4 dollar cell phone case. I even used a couple of aged accounts and attempted to sell cheap stuff in other categories, same thing. It all depends, my wife made 6 stealth accounts this week and only 1 got the MC999, and she was selling high risk items like cell phones and a used laptop. |

I must be. The only way I get suspended is when I have below selling standards for 30+ days.
Now PayPal is a different story. I'm getting limited left and right over there. :surrender:
I must be linking those accounts somehow... |
Re: It's raining MC999s I got today one MC999 message on a 2 weeks stealth account. I listed a couple of cheap music cds which sold, and today I felt confident in listing a sport jersey for $99
Guess that was my stupid error. But come on folks, what do they expect? People try to make money, business there. How come they close accounts because of the amount of items. Like if holding our money for 21 days was not enough. I was working in the same computer with different users. Call me paranoid but from
Now on will have one computer per account. I was even using a new ebay account with and old paypal account a friend lent me ( which she had no intention to ever use or cared to loose if it ever happened) I will not be defeated by ebay. |
