You know when you fax in your info to eBay to get reinstated, they say that the documents will be destroyed immediately. Do you guys believe that? Or is that a way to lure you to get your ID on file? I'm a little bit worried because I'm planning to fax ebay a photoshoped document.

Alternate To Using Ebay

Can anyone recommend a different company other than Ebay as an alternate to using Ebay, is there a similiar company comparable to Ebay

ivegotinfo 01-09-2008 02:27 PM

there are similar ones, but they get like 100x less traffic.

ubid.com
ioffer.com

Everyone, paypal does link you to eBay especially when someone reports you. In our case, people dont want us to sell because of competition.

Beware, I had a rep at paypal personally tell me you will need to restart all new including paypal. He is a top manager at PayPal - 100k plus in sales.

eBay is a piece of Shh for doing this crap!

Hello guys i`ve got the following message when i try to sell with my newly created Ebay account ... ------ Attention !
In order to ensure a safe marketplace for all, eBay will periodically review the accounts of members who are actively trading with multiple userids. While we do this, we are placing a short hold on your accounts. At this time, please contact eBay Customer Support at cbtquestions@ebay.com and provide a list of all of your eBay userids. We will review your account(s) and contact you to let you know when the hold has been lifted or if we need additional information. Thank you.

What could be the problem is there any ideas i mean what could couse the problem ..

I know for a fact that ebay is nowing tracking your MAC address. I logged into 3 of my accounts from the same 3 different IP's as I had been doing for a couple of months. Within 2 hours of listing on all 3, they were all suspended for "abusing ebay". I did some research and found a software that can now randomly change your MAC address when logging into ebay from the same computer. I have discovered that my wireless card MAC and cable MAC numbers are different. Tested this new software that assigned me a new MAC while logging into ebay, did some listings on another 3 accounts, no problems thus far.

New Paypal Account

I just set up a new paypal account w/ new credit card and bank account. I have since linked it, from paypal, not ebay to my new ebay account. There should be no way that they can suspend that account. As for my other suspeded accounts I have sellers that are wating for items but I can't complete the transactions since my money from paypal is being held. Well all I did was disable my credit card info and my bank account and I sit back and wait for the transaction to be reversed. I don't make any money but then I don't owe any either. Way to go ebay for sticking it to your users.

same thing happened to me. i have probably 100 customers that i needed to ship to on a few different account. ebay suspended all accounts, so now i don't want to go back to my old paypal to print the lablels. and what's worse i have about 200 money orders and checks that just came in from my blocked accounts. i can in no way answer emails to these people. i told ebay about this situtation many times, and they just don't care about those buyers that aren't going to get their product. i wouldn't let too many complaints build up on a paypal account though. paypal will shut your account down for that.

I alway save my end of auction emails.

twdell 01-25-2008 06:50 AM

i never anticipated this happening so i had my ebay account set so that i never received the item sold emails.

poopdeck 02-08-2008 03:49 PM

Hey clear the deck
Someone here said ebay is checking to verify disconnected or bogus phone numbers. Its true and they are doing it through Paypal.
Ebay knows the way to you is through Paypal--where you collect the moola
and paypal has the system to kick your ass with verifying your SS#/EIN.
But since this operation is all computer automated-- as long as your phone system answers you should be fine.

koalawash 02-08-2008 04:59 PM

But tossabledigits should still work, I think. Just make sure you're there to answer the phone.

I do not think that using Paypal on a new account is an automatic suspension due to linking. Last time I started selling on a 0 fb account was in December 2007. I used the same old Paypal account that I always used on all suspended and active eBay ID's and had absolutely no problems. Until this week, I had 4 actively selling eBay accounts, including 3 Powersellers with 2K+ FB, all using the same Paypal account, and never had a problem with this.

The surprise, however, came when I got too many violations on one of my powersellers and someone in T&S, obviously, personally reviewed that account in all depth. That day I got suspension emails for about 15 accounts, all my accounts that ever used Paypal to accept a payment. My other selling account that were seating in reserve and never used Paypal stayed intact.

Interestingly enough, they sent suspension emails even to those eBay ID's that have been shut down for "abusing", which showed that they linked those accounts only now when they looked into my Paypal account's list of used email addresses. Therefore, I'm pretty much confident that no significant changes have been made in Paypal security system in July. However, I would very much like to know what causes an eBay rep look into an eBay seller's Paypal account. In October I had a situation just like this, I got a several month old account with a few hundreds of feedback suspended for violations, however, no other accounts went down that time, so nobody in eBay looked into my Paypal account back then. It looks to me the only difference was that the October account was not a Powerseller (eBay folks with great sense of humor sent me an invitation to PS program the next day they shut down the account). So the question is what causes an eBay T&S rep look deep into Paypal account? Anyone else had a situation like this?

koalawash 02-14-2008 03:39 AM

Well, that's what happens. They'll get you eventually, one way or the other. Just don't expect their reasons to always make sense.

ebayhateluv 02-14-2008 09:37 AM

HI, Stepijunk:
Yes, have had this happen, and my "dates' IF THIS MAKES A pattern..
December 14th., and again Jan 17th..
All Abusing, all same letter, even accts that were dead for linking, same emails.
---- the only common factor was the pp acct, you are right.
