Default Suspicious account Detected or have ebay upgraded their security?

Hello I've created quite a few steath accounts over time, until recently, the last one being around 6 months ago. These account have hit the "upgrade to business account" wall. Every account i have ever made has worked until i hit this.

That is until these last two accounts. My setup is VPN ( which works fine on all my previous/established accounts) using a new firefox portible for each account.

I created both accounts around 1 month ago, account 1 i got up and running bought things steadily over the month, then Tuesday i upgrade to sellers account listed 10 items mostly cheap autions but a couple of BIN's. Wednesday listings removed and account limited, called them they asked the usual questions, asked for id and proof of address, put the phone down and my account was suspended within 10 minutes. I've never had ebay asked for this proof before, only paypal. Is this usual now or have f**K3d up somewhere?

So skip to account 2 Yesterday i bought a few cheap items, and made 1 cheap listing. Today account is limited.

I know they are going to ask for proof of address and id.

Is it now standard for them to ask for this id of new sellers or am i doing something wrong?

Not using any of the same details/ address/ ip/ contact detail. Paypals are full vertified. Done the call vertifications. If i send them the docs they request am i wasting my time or will they reenstate my accounts? I don't want to call about the second account as i know what they're going to ask

I just want to know am i doing something wrong or is this now standard practice? I don't want to be burning anymore bank accounts

Thats for any replys

What are you listing? I would start off with one listing every week or so until 30 days has passed. Not use the whole 10 lisitings straight away? I converted my new stealth account to a sellers account straight away to be honest. Placed bids on loads of xbox games then listed one for my self.

This is actually usual procedure for eB and that's why it's not really recommended to call them.

My question for you is your VPN...is it a free/cheap one that can be used by many people? Are you using the SAME VPN across your accounts? Could be a HUGE factor that is causing you this headache

When you use a VPN you risk using an IP that is already been banned on ebay.

Well the first account is perminantly banned. The second was reinstated by a lovely sounding american girl ( maybe filipino) without any need for any documentation. Slowly slowly, both have reccommended using actual photos instead of stock so i'll be doing this in future.

So is the call now standard procedure?

And my VPN is paid for and has a relatively small global user base so i don't think it was that. Maybe the first woman was just having a bad day.

Future calls i'll be putting the phone down until i hear that soft american accent, filipinos have great customer service, the rest of ebay don't seem to comprehend it.

Sounds like you might have found one of the clues here salescheaper with that mention of using real photo's rather than stock. You are right as well about your note about some eBay customer service reps being a lot better than others going off other forum members posts about having rung in to them.

Ebay have the worst customer service staff i've ever experienced from both buying and selling point of views.

I really do wish another platform would rise to add some competition.

I have found the U.S. eBay reps fairly easy to deal with unless you're doing something like selling Phake Rolexs etc........

ALL of the foreign reps I avoid like ebola......

I hang up on them as soon as they get on the line and just redial.....sometimes take 2 or 3 calls to make it to a U.S. Rep.......

If you are actually UK based, you should consider other option to access t'internet.

There's a good chance that this VPN may be burned by others who made the same choice as you to use it.

Just to clarify, how many accounts are you running on the VPN?
