Setting-up a new business account before current account becomes suspended
 

I currently have a business account, which I sell furniture on. My seller level has just slipped to below standard, and is unlikely to see a significant improvement any time soon due to my limits.

I would prefer to be proactive by deactivating my current account and setting-up a new account before the current one is suspended. I was hoping you could provide me with some general advice.

Is it any easier to create a 'stealth' account off the back of deactivating a previous account? Or do the same principles apply if the previous account was suspended?

It would not really make much difference if you deactivate the original account or not. Stealth rules will be the same either way :thumb:

Yes, you can't simply open one business after you close another. eBay considers everything to be the responsibility of the individual who opened the account. So, if you are the person behind both accounts and one gets suspended, the other one will too.

You have to create a stealth identity, not just a new business.

However, you should have a plan in place to take care of whatever the problems were that you were having, or the same thing will happen on the new account.

Thank you for your reply. We had returns for transit damage caused by a third-party courier. We replaced / refunded the items, but the defects have stood. Going forward, we have new and better couriers. We actually have our own website; eBay is a subsidiary revenue stream.

We plan to clean house and close our account with eBay. Open a new PayPal account (with the same bank account), and set-up a new eBay account using a new computer. Company name, address and contact details will be different.

The only link will be the same bank account, although this will connected to an entirely new PayPal account.

Considering that we haven't been suspended, we're hoping that we won't be subjected to the same vetting. In other words, go under the radar as we haven't been flagged for being 'banned'.

Any thoughts?

You can't close an ebay account that is below standard. If you can not get your account above standard by improving your sales, then you will be banned. Sorry to say, but thats the reality.

You need to learn stealth, dont use the same bank account. Open a new one.

Get the stealth book, read it couple of times and then ask a ton of stupid questions here. Try and fail couple of times and learn from it. Rinse and repeat.
Soon you'll have the stealth accounts up and running and you'll never need to look back in anger!
