Take a screenshot if you can next time. Honestly sounds like you just have spyware of some sort.

Re: 40 accounts down in 4 days.

I got the same little box on one of my acc couple days ago .orange /goldish bar pops up across the bottom of screen says run save or cancel and it was a request for me to download something from ebay I just hit cancel ..

At the time I had this happen I was submitting a revision on a listing hit the submit button popped up an error says for me to put in the shipping carrier and that's when the little download box popped it . It was a dill. file I just cancel and went back to the listing and all the info for the shipping was blank had to fill it out again. usps free shipping handling time 1 day . then accepted the changes without error . I should have put more thought in this .. It was on a no risk item and a good clean account no foo foo or anything that would cause a problem so I wasn't worried . But now I think about it wonder what that attempt was about

Would also advise looking into VMware for the future, also were you noting all ips to make sure no duplicates?

This is very interesting.

Do we have any computer/tech experts in house that can offer commentary on this file type?

I call it a "Sweep"..... this happens usually once a year... about a year and 2 months ago i lost 13 accounts in one day.... yesterday i lost 5 accounts.... once a year Ebay does a sweep and they take down numerous accounts at once... then everything is smooth for about a year or so... until the next sweep..

What? Why? What reason do they have to delete accounts like this?

What I mean is, what criteria do they use to mass delete these accounts? I know eBay does whatever they want on a whim, but there must be some criteria if one guys stealth goes down and another doesn't. What are the similarities? Are all phone #'s on the accounts working? Do you have access to the phones? Etc.

Can any other members confirm this information?

Same problem man, 5 out of 8 of my accounts went down in the passed 7 days. I got 1 restored so far I'm working on getting others restored but it seems pretty hard and I don't know what to do, all of them came with a diffrent email from eBay that its restricted and the PayPal accounts are also limited

Ody12, what were the similarities between the shut-down accounts?

The only thing I could think of is it had something to with the credit cards.
They all expired this month 5/15.

I logged all my ips and used chrome portable for each account.
They were all selling different things but some in the same category.
Also 2 of these accounts had ein on it

Are you sure you were using chrome portable properly, as I've seen many people get a ton of accounts linked by not using it the right way

Might want to look into using VMware instead

I'm thinking may be this was the culprit.

Card all expire in the same month. Also, they expire this month....perhaps it's a good idea to update cards one month prior to expiration.

Keep in mind, this is just a theory---I'm just brain-storming. I'd love to hear the thoughts of more experienced stealth members on this situation.

What do you mean by not using it properly? How can you not use it properly?
For each account I made a folder and installed the chrome portable in the folder. I don't think that the accounts were linked, I have been doing it like this for a few months without a problem.

1 of my accounts was linked but I knew it was linked from months ago because I screwed up, then when the account that it was linked to got restricted they restricted this one too, but I called them up and convinced them it was my only account and came up with an excuse why the 2 accounts had the same info, and they restored the account for me.

Chrome portable is buggy is not set up properly.

I even use different browsers per account.

Thank you. Do you have any thoughts? You've been around here a long time, and I know you're quite experienced. Have you had any accounts wiped during the "sweeps" eBay allegedly runs? I'd love to hear the take from someone who's been running multiple accounts for years.

Maybe a bi weekly quick search for that particular file that anime gave us would be helpful just in case they are injecting such files. I just did a thorough search and nothing came up, whew.

What did it take? Just a phone call? Did they give any reasoning for the shutdowns?

and Anime, can you give us a screenshot of the file download?

It took 6 or 7 phone calls, documents, invoices, and a lot of time and energy
