Anyone ever use American express gift cards

I am in Canada but it shows they have it usa too the vanilla mastercard

It's nice cause you can use one set of name address then go back and change to a different one with the same number easily

Isn't that a bad idea to use the same card for more then one account. That links them, so if one goes down I think other probably will to. Also Vanilla cards worked for me twice but the last time I tried it, it wouldn't work, have you tried it recently?

Vanilla cards are no longer reliable, they work sometimes and other times they dont.

Amex worked great for me. No need to register or anything.. Just takes 2-3 days for Expuse # to show up so you have to be patient.

I heard that Vanilla's online registration no longer links with AVS checks. So the card only works with vendors that do not perform address checks.

vanilla is hit or miss. however the mastercards seem to have less issues than the visa's. the blackhawk visa sold at staples for the same price as vanilla visa works fine.

I've used Vanilla's on almost every account with no problem. haven't seen blackhawk visa, gonna check those out as a backup.

I don't think paypal performs an AVS check because I've used unregistered vanilla & amex gift cards on multiple accounts without problems (at least on accounts that haven't been limited yet).

Has anyone tried vanilla with a vendor that's known to check AVS in the past few months? I tried it on 2 sites... both accepted registered Simons, but wouldn't accept Vanillas. This might be why it's hit or miss. It all depends on whether or not the vendor is performing AVS.

yeah blackhawk is sold at staples...a nice one. lets you register and address online as well. far more reliable than vanilla visa.
