Ebay asking for my phone number

Called ebay support about a problem and the guy who answered asked for my USER ID and phone number

This was after putting in the one time pass code

Yes. Happens sometimes.
He's referring to the phone number on the account and is just confirming hes talking to the owner of the account. Shouldn't be any issue providing him the info hes looking for.

They could ask for simply anything. So its crucial you have all the account info to hand before you call in. They can even ask trick questions to put you on the spot, i.e. How old are you?
