Ok so there's a lot of talk about how to avoid linking accounts here, but seems like very little about how to deal with turbo lister, which has the potential to link you just as easily as any of the others if you make the wrong moves. Back at the very beginning Aspkin mentioned that you can open a new file within Turbo Lister for a new account. But he also mentioned first removing the Turbo Lister you have. Could someone please clear up the confusion by posting some step by step instructions on how to deal with Turbo Lister? Can you use the copy you have, you just change some things? If so, what do you change? If not, do you have to start from scratch with a whole new copy of Turbo Lister? Can you at least export the files to that copy safely before removing the first copy? Instructions for all of this I think would be highly helpful for everyone. I'm sure it's not just ME wondering this. Thanks as always!

Before I would say reinstall turbolister in a new folder, and delete your old copy. But after awhile I noticed it didn't really mater, it seemed eBay wasn't using turbolister to keep tabs on you. The only problem that can occur is by accidentally logging into your old eBay account using the same IP as your new account, which will then link and suspend you. You don't want to do that. :)

So in other words, you can continue to use your same Turbolister, but make sure to change the details of the software, username, password and anything else it ask for.

Making sure I understand you, do you mean you have to create a new user file within Turbo Lister, so you change the password, user name and all that? Do you need to create a whole new folder too, or just the user file? And is this just going to be for your own private use to change your auction look at that point, or will you be able to upload auctions to ebay once it's done without fear of linking accounts? I noticed that they now have it set up so as soon as the program opens it asks for your password and user name, and it still has my old one stored, so I have to know what to do before I even log in!

If you're unsure, I would just uninstall turbolister and download/reinstall under a different folder to get that 'first time use', and clean slate for you to work with. And yes you can upload the auctions to eBay once you're ready.

I would, but I will have to start from scratch on auction information if I did that, and even though I will change some things, I WILL want to keep some stuff like item names and some details. Knowing what has worked in the past, I build from that and like to keep them around in some form or another. The problem is...how, without accidentally making myself known? Can you poke around in your own turbo lister without any problems as long as you don't upload or connect to ebay? Or will you need to clear your cache and cookies any time you click on that folder?

You can save your information into a .csv file, and upload it to the new turbolister. You'll need Microsoft excel to do this. You can even edit the file before you upload it back to the new turbolister, for example changing the paypal email address, which is critical. :)

Hmm. I used to have excel before the switch to XP. I guess it was erased in the changeover. Once I find it again, do you save it to .csv within turbo lister or within excel?

Come to think of it, I really do need excel again if I want to try Google Base multiple items upload function.

You save it from turbolister. Excel is an invaluable tool, I use several times a day! I Love it!

thanks again aspkin. I'm looking on google for instructions how that's done right now. Is there any chance there could be some code in the old copy of turbo lister that could carry over to the new copy that might link back to that suspended user name? And regarding poking around in your old turbo lister account, should you be safe to go in there if you clear out of everything (cookies/cache) first?

Whenever you use turbo lister it automaticly captures your ip. So say if you got banned on ip the last aco**** you use. Then dont use it. Cause it will link to your new one. Now, if you changed your ip and never installed it. Or if you did uninstall completely clean your registry cookies etc. If you want to be hardcore safe about it. Install another windows on your hard drive. I have 4 right now. A proxy does not work with this im prety sure of that. As long as your ip is fully different. Then your safe to use it. Im about to use it myself. Getting tired of all my listings, doing it on ebay T_T. lol

Jack, the only thing would be auction descriptions, title and your paypal email address. You'll need to change these.

Still not sure I understand completely. If IP is not an issue (dialup) can you use the version of turbo lister you're already using? Just create another user name under "file" or something like it? I've had no luck finding the instructions on google to save the csv. Is it me or is google becoming one big advertisement? :confused: Ebay tops their search list too. I find that amusing. ;)

Within turbolister I believe it's File, Save.. you should have the option to save as csv file. Look around there.

I'm a fan too, they're just much harder to find information than they used to be. Just information overload I guess. Categories would be a nice feature, but I doubt advertisers would let them do that. ;)

Well I looked, here's what I found...
 

I found instructions to import the contents of an old version of turbo lister (1.0) into a new one (2.0). This isn't exactly what I asked for before, but as I now have three separate copies of turbo lister on my computer, and one is on a whole different hard drive which is on the blink, I'd like to try and get them all together. By doing this import, will this merge your information in a bad way (that might lead to suspension)? Should you avoid the import feature altogether? I still haven't found a way to save as csv. Have pretty much given up on that for now and looking for other ways to manage my data.

I'm using 2.0. I'm sure you can save csv. File->export selected item.

Jayt, do you have to be connected online to save the csv file? I figure I'm pretty safe when there's no information being sent to ebay through the internet! :)

Once the information is saved as a csv, to avoid multiple downloads of TL 2.0, how can you crowd all your user names in there at once with no risk of messing over a good user name with a suspended one? I'm not sure I understand how that's done. Are the different user names being in the same program not an invitation to ebay account linking waiting to happen?

Also, are there any features within turbo lister you're going to want to avoid altogether to avoid suspension again? For instance, are you not going to be able to "import from ebay" or other advanced features?

Lastly, as long as you're not sending or receiving from ebay while you're in the turbo lister program, is there any way at all that ebay will know you're there and who you are?

You don't need to be online to save csv.

I wouldn't use TL for multiple accounts. That definitely links accounts used.

Make sure you use different IP. I suggest you use TL for one major account and use browser for other accounts after switching IP. You don't want to open TL while online if that's not the account you want to use. Who know what TL does while idle.

Thanks for the information :) Learning this, I'm not even sure that importing and exporting csv files is a good idea. What if you only keep the information from past accounts? That's what I meant about crowding user names into one turbo lister. With the slightest misstep causing a suspended account, it's easy to build up a list! Anyway, previous posts seem to indicate that it can be done. I just don't understand how! Until then, I regard Turbo Lister as a minefield to tread lightly on, and any insight into how it works and how to properly use it while avoiding linking accounts is greatly appreciated!

Some Clarification Needed on Turbo Lister
 

I've managed to bring up some old files and am ready to transfer files from one turbo lister to another, just so I can use it for the ebay promo. Now I have an idea - will this work? If I export to csv all the files from a previously suspended user to my OLD version of turbo lister, can I be reasonably safe to just create a new user in my NEW turbo lister account? And once those old files are out of the new turbo lister version, should I delete them from 2.0? I'm still a little shaky on the connection that might happen with having multiple users on the same version of Turbo Lister. I've been told it's just judged by IP address and nothing else, but I don't know...does anyone have the proof? :confused:

I just opened 4 new ebay accounts and 3 paypals accounts the other day. I know u gotta take it a little slow when u first open a new account. But I love selling big. Whens the best time to download "turbo lister" and sell in large quanities around 100 items or more without raising any ebay flags and gettin suspended?

Ive noticed the best time is 30 to 60 days to list big...most of my PP's have been limited at the 60 day mark almost to the day...no supensions but you can't list when your limited...but ive moved away from PP...
