Stay Away from Third-Party TOOLBARS
Third party toolbars cause exectabe code to be installed and run on your computer.
This is very significant.
The amount of data a web server can see about your computer over a HTTP connection is minimal, and it's data that you can spoof.
The data a localy installed program can see about your hardware is VERY INTIMATE. essentially nothing is hidden from such a program.
Try to run the windows program "System Information". ( in the "Aplicatons/ System Tools" folder) It will tell you things lke the MAC addresses of 6 or 7 hardware devices, including your router, NIC card, and IEEE1394 (Firewire) port if present. The serial numbers of all hardware present. The windows serial and machine name. A lot of data that cannot be spoofed.
Now SysInfo is nothing fancy, it's not doing any magic. It is a very simple and ordinary windows program. It can see all this info simply by having the privilege of runing on your machine. This means Turbo Lister, Blackthorne, and any third party toolbar can also see these things.
It's simple:
If you're flying stealth, NEVER install or use any third party toolbars for your browser, or for anything alse.
NOT the Paypal PLUGIN.
NOT EBAY TOOLBARS
NOT the Yahoo Toolbar (Yahoo has a close relationship with eBay, and it is a primary dissemination node for "Doubleclick" cookies.
Doubleclick is a notorious provider of Web marketing and targeting solutions. Translate that: The biggest spy on the web.
And eBay uses both eBay cookies AND doublelick cookies to track you (becasue Doubleclick continues to track you long after you left eBay, on many other web sites).
eBay is Doubleclick's biggest customer.
Most other toolbars offered on the web have doubeclick tracking built-in.
Keep you machine clean of garbage.
You DO NOT NEED anyone's toolbar to be fulfiled as a human being.
